They arrive through the wormhole one by one, and once the last is through the big 'puddle of water' flashes and with a loud whrishing noise closes off.
It appears to be night on the planet they've landed on, as it's completly dark. There's not even a moon to brighten things up. There's unzipping noises and several flashlights come on. "There seems to be a path this way."

They follow the path for a bit until they come to place suitable for a base of operations. Some discussion and they decide to set things up and figure out where the ships are.

Based off his experience, things that are interesting and found in the course of exploring are either unfriendly, carnivorus, or both.
He looks around to make sure everyone who's in the group is ready, then begins head out. "Try not to shoot at anything until you've figured out what it is, if you can. And keep the flashlights handy." He's already got his sweeping through the darkness, although there's not much of interest to illuminate here.
