my company's policy is similar. You can't take more than you earn within a given year, and if you've used more than you've earned when you quit, they withhold the difference from your final paycheck. So I could take a week's vacation in January, as long as I worked enough months to earn that week. Otherwise, it would come out of my pay. His company isn't so flexible -- they are all about being able to bill the client for every possible minute.

I do get to roll over vacation, but there is a 30 day limit. I only get 10 days of vacation a year and only 3 sick days. That's why it's hard to have any days left. Now you know why I brew beer.
