We had a great mini-vacation at the new resort.  We spent two lovely days floating around in the water park and one memorable evening at the Cibolo Moon tequila bar.   Cibolo Moon's food was okay, but the tequila bar was awesome.

So -- the world's largest Marriott resort recently opened in San Antonio, and it's within 4-5 miles of our house.  The resort is on about 600 acres, and they have tons of convention space, numerous restaurants, a humongous spa and fitness center, a 6-acre water park, two golf courses, a bird sanctuary, boutique shopping, and goodness knows what ( Read more... )

Ok -- I've managed to put up some of the photos from our vacation.  For now I've only managed to upload Sept 1-4 (Airports, Monte Carlo, and the first night on board the cruise ship).   On the 5th we hit Rome, and that's probably going to need to be it's own album.  Anyway -- for those that wanted to live vicariously through me... Caught a killer cold after we left Italy -- managed to push my way through Greece, but never even saw Turkey.  Thankfully musicbyoscar took lots of photos.  Once I'm over the bronchitis, I'll try to post selected photos and some reviews.  For now, I'm just too sick to sort through them.

musicbyoscar and I spent New Year's Eve at a murder mystery event in Houston.   It was a fun time -- a big NYE party with dinner and DJ, with a little murder and mayhem thrown in for entertainment.    I drank enough wine to get out on the dance floor, but not enough to cause a hangover the next morning.  (A delicate balance, since I can't dance worth a darn)
