He pressed her against the trunk of a tree, rough bark underneath the palm of his hand, the one that didn’t have her by the arm, and didn’t bother with the usual arguments. They never worked, and he never wanted them to.

Powerful image, this is how I always imagine these two. Secret, raw, not careful with one another or themselves.

Life doesn’t work that way. He’s had enough experience in that department and he really doesn’t have any excuses left about not knowing better.

I love Richard and all his immortality, experienced but still vunerable to an untamed thing like Alex.

Because she knew as soon as she let him in they’d end up right back where they started, intentionally or otherwise, and those days and nights never really got them anywhere, and it’s not like that’s really going to change just because it’s been a few years and they’re in an entirely different world now. I love the way you've written them, fated and doomed. That's the only way to go. They are a beautiful disaster. Excellent job in creating a enthralling ( ... )

Raw is a good word. And I imagine anyone entering into a relationship of this nature is just a little self-destructive.

I really love the idea of Richard having been around for some long but undetermined amount of time, yet having this girl get to him, get under his skin. There's something almost ironic there. They really aren't likely to have a happy ending are they? I don't really think anyone else, but they are especially doomed.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I love you and you nearly made me cry near the end. And I could put up a more coherent post but I'm in a very bad mood and even though you certainly lightened it up, I feel as if I should come back and give this a proper comment worth your while. Because this really, really is a damn good piece of writing.

Of course, the fact that it's Alex/Richard and that you wrote this is reason enough for it to be good, but still.

This is great and I will come back and give you a comment you deserve.

Aw, sorry you're in a bad mood hun *hugs*

And hey, any comment is a good comment. No need to force yourself into writing something, just knowing that you read it and liked it is more than enough for me.

I'm so glad that you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I was waiting for someone to get that mixed up, lol. And people ask why I state fandom in my headers...to avoid scary pairings that's why.

Because it IS running away Richard. Gah! I kind of love this to pieces! But that ending did break my Richard-n-Alex-loving heart. Dang. Can you ALWAYS write them? Can that be a thing you do? Because this is fucking fantastic.

I can't ALWAYS, but I promise to do it more often. I've really been slacking off with Lost, and with these two. It's very unfortunate.

I'm so thrilled that you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Aww I totally dig this!
I love all the similarities between their relationship now and their relationship then, how some things never change.
And the ending!! *sniffle*
This is amazing :)

Their relationship didn't really change, no, but they did. She grew up, and he's always going to be the way he is, and that poses a problem with them.

I'm glad you liked this! Thanks for reading and reviewing hun!
