He pressed her against the trunk of a tree, rough bark underneath the palm of his hand, the one that didn’t have her by the arm, and didn’t bother with the usual arguments. They never worked, and he never wanted them to.

Powerful image, this is how I always imagine these two. Secret, raw, not careful with one another or themselves.

Life doesn’t work that way. He’s had enough experience in that department and he really doesn’t have any excuses left about not knowing better.

I love Richard and all his immortality, experienced but still vunerable to an untamed thing like Alex.

Because she knew as soon as she let him in they’d end up right back where they started, intentionally or otherwise, and those days and nights never really got them anywhere, and it’s not like that’s really going to change just because it’s been a few years and they’re in an entirely different world now.

I love the way you've written them, fated and doomed. That's the only way to go. They are a beautiful disaster. Excellent job in creating a enthralling AU for them to live and breathe.

Raw is a good word. And I imagine anyone entering into a relationship of this nature is just a little self-destructive.

I really love the idea of Richard having been around for some long but undetermined amount of time, yet having this girl get to him, get under his skin. There's something almost ironic there. They really aren't likely to have a happy ending are they? I don't really think anyone else, but they are especially doomed.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
