I'm trying to be linear with this, but I'm probably just going to skip back and forth a lot.

On Friday morning, about an hour after Joe left for work, I started having contractions. I kept track of how often they occurred, and then called Joe to tell him I thought it was time.

 We went shopping last night for more baby clothes and other things we needed. Linus now has matching sets of hats, onesies, and socks. I think they're adorable.
We ended up ordering the changing table, diaper bag, and Snugli online, so those should arrive sometime this week.

 Yesterday's appointment went as expected. I was tested for Group B strep, but I won't know the results until next Monday's appointment. 
We got a little brochure about seven months ago, listing all of the various classes that we could take to prepare for the baby's arrival. We decided that the childbirth class wasn't necessary, and I ended up ( Read more... )

 The contractions have stopped, at least for now. 
At one point yesterday, they were only six minutes apart, but they slowed down to half an hour, then an hour, and finally subsided.
I did make a few phone calls to family members, just to keep them informed. My dad's reaction was, "When are you due?"
"April ninth."

 Yesterday, sometime between 2 and 2:30 pm, I started having contractions. They're still really far apart - hours, in fact - but Joe and I had already figured that our baby would be at least a week early. I guess we'll see. 

I did basically nothing all day today, and it was great.

Linus spent most of the afternoon playing tag with Joe. 
I realized today that I only have five more appointments before he's due. Possibly six, but that's only if he's late, and doctors generally don't like to wait more than a week past a due date to induce labor. 
I have 44 days left.

 I met one of the other doctors yesterday, just in case my doctor can't deliver Linus when I go into labor.

I don't like her. I told Joe that if she's our only option, we'll either deliver the baby ourselves, or I'll just wait.

 It still amazes me that my mom can't get a clue. I was checking one of my yahoo accounts by signing into it with the messenger, and there was an offline message from her waiting for me, asking how Linus is doing and reminding me that my sister is due in three weeks. 
It's almost sad that she's so damned oblivious. 
I didn't bother responding.
