What do you think the school will do to me if I refuse to sign the ICT form?

Actually, yeah. I mean, besides calling my parents in, threatening me with multiple SOMs and meetings with HOYs various Important People, and banning me from touching a single school computer, is there anything else?

I don't know, y'know. Like I said, I'm torn between saying, No way in hell am I signing this shit, and I don't really care, honestly. It's not worth getting SOMs over - plus, I really don't want to like, have to talk to Jalleh and etc. about this.

Although, d'you think Mr. Hee will like, throw a fit if I accidentally-on-purpose forget to bring it on Tuesday? And Wednesday, and after that.

Ouch. You're supposed to keep stories like that for nights when I'm too drunk to be embarrassed. Not. that there are any such nights. But I suppose there are too many blur-liz stories like that.

I don't know if I agree with your views on the ICT thing, I would rather like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think that they have the right to stop us from using their school computer resources, electricity and network for enjoying our own personal recreation...but I was kind of taken aback by the extreme they took this to with the form and everything. I don't know, I think it's...harmless, but paranoid?

But I do agree with your larger view of how the school is far more concerned about its respectability and reputation and appearances than its student body...e.g. from my perspective, I can say that they treat the artclub + SAP girls like art machines - maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but they do expect us to create booklet covers/designs/guest-of-honour gifts for all those special occasions. And I wouldn't mind, really. I consider it my way of giving back to the school. The thing that irks me is that they often are vague about guidelines and what they actually want, leaving us to do a lot of brain-racking and brainstorming ( ... )

I get the uncertainty over my - rather radical views on the ICT thing, because honestly I was surprised and taken aback myself at the vehemence that came out as I wrote. I am used to the school's paranoia and all, and I do recognize that it's their property, yeah, and they're an Organization, with their own reputation to protect, and I've always understood the whole social contract thing - how if we're part of this school, we should obey its rules too (sacrifice some individual rights for societal protection, right) , except the ICT form itself is like, nine pages of extremity, and what gets me is that they're not protecting us from ourselves, they're protecting them from us ( ... )
