I'm so satisfied with this! I was so excited to read this, as I am with all of your precious works dear noona. I loved the way you described Jinki's problem. We talked about it on Skype a couple nights ago and you expressed that he might suffer from something like this but mild and on a smaller scale.

The hint of realism you add to your stories is truly amazing and that is why I will forever remain your biggest fan. This is just so precious. I am so happy that Kibum came back. Maybe jinki will feel the need to tell kibum now, maybe he will express his problem that he has because it seems like Kibum brings out a potential Jinki and perhaps the person Jinki truly wishes and wants to be. Something about Kibum keeps Jinki "healthy" in a sense.

This was so precious ;; I love you!!!

Sobbing my eyes out.

Okay.

He came back. He came back. I did not expect that. [you call this "mild angst" ??? I'd hate to see "extreme angst."]

I was already tearing up in the first few paragraphs. The opening alone spoke of such sadness and resignation. [dammit, I'm crying again. HE CAME BACK.]

Some of my faves:

He was leaving because Jinki was a coward; because the thought of being more than two blocks away from his single-level two-bed-two-bath rental on the outskirts of Seoul made his stomach churn and his palms sweat, and suddenly he'd be choking on his own heartbeat. Kibum was leaving because Jinki couldn't tell him he wanted go with him, since he didn't know how to do anything but stay; because Kibum could leave, but Jinki couldn't.
I think this speaks to anyone who has ever struggled with any sort of phobia or self-destructive behavior.

Jinki figured this was the part where their clothes became rags again, and their days went from palaces and horse-drawn carriages to Jinki's worse-for-wear little house ( ... )

omg I didn't mean for anyone to cry! OTL Tissues, tissues. And for me, this IS mild angst! I could easily write something heavier, but I tend to get wrapped up in it, and it makes me depressed to do it. *facepalm*

I guess I didn't realize it was as sad as you found it in places; I was so focused on the happy ending that I suppose I didn't notice what was happening on the way there. xD

I don't think I could ever have been satisfied if Kibum hadn't come back. In my mind's eye he had always suspected what Jinki wasn't telling him, though he does have a hard time understanding it, which is why he couldn't see why travelling would have been so terribly impossible for Jinki to do.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, though! Perhaps my next oneshot will be something happier to make up for this. xD

Yes you made me cry again! Omg how perfect, feelings of love, pain, loneliness, hope, fear, wholeness, emptiness, laughter, joy, being loved unconditionally...just uggghhh!

This....this is life!....just amazingly beautiful ( and yes I am saying this again, but you really are capable of writing things that bring out all of life's beauty out in words.)

One of my favorite parts is:

***That camera was as much a part of Kim Kibum as the little cluster of freckles tucked inside the dip of his hipbone, the ones Jinki liked to trace with his mouth, mapping their position like a constellation in the milky sky of Kibum's skin.***

I don't know why but the imagery is so personal and that he noticed this little thing about Key and then left his mark there before Key left was perfect.

And the old sweater...

And Key came back....

Perfect!

Oh! and buying the second toothbrush...

and the other thing I was thinking about is that it took him three months before the first letter and pictures and then he was like clockwork.

I like to think that it was as hard on Key to leave Jinki behind and the first few months he tried to let if go, and forget, but then he realized how much he loved him and how he knew he was going back to him.

You hit the nail on the head with that one~

In my head, even after three months, no matter what Kibum saw and found on his world tour, things would remind him of Jinki. Tacky souvenirs, local dishes made with things he liked, things of that nature. I'm sure he would've found himself thinking, "I wish Jinki could see this" more times than he'd care to admi, before caving in and starting his little project.

And a little author's secret - The Polaroid Kibum send Jinki last is one he snapped in secret before he left, that he kept with him at all times, to remind him of Jinki. Jinki himself does much like being photographed, mostly because he was always scared that Key's ever-vigilant lens would be too telling.

The Aw-factor was definitely what I was gunning for at the end there.
