Meet Fender

Since we started volunteering at the animal shelter, there's been a few kitties to sink their claws into Luka's heart, and a couple we even contemplated moving homes just so we could adopt them.  Falling in love is one of the dangers, of course, and my sweet, tender-hearted wife has a knack for bonding with only the most amazing cats.

I'm glad Fender is getting a good home, even if it's not yours. When I was a vet assistant, we always had a couple animals around looking for homes. Inevitably they would get adopted by someone who worked there, because you get to know the animals so well.

Getting to know them is the thing, isn't it? I'm just lucky he went so quick so I didn't get even more attached than I did with even that short exposure.

The long exposure is hard - at the vet we would often have animals for months as they recovered from injuries, and you'd get to know them really well.

By the way, how's Luka? Haven't heard from her in a while.
