Just stuff

I went to a fundraiser last night at the Anza club. The theme was Mad Hatter's party. There a lot of young quirky folks there and astoundingly, none of them looked familiar. I was reminded of the fact that this is a large city with millions of people and I don't know as many of them as I used to.

Oh frack, I had been entirely intending on going to that. Scads of my friends were there. *sighs* And here, I was certain it was today.

Yeah it was definitely your kind of crowd. I was thinking to myself that you probably knew some or all of them.

Yeah no kidding. Although, I have to say, the callback shot of Jennifer Connelly at an orgy vastly improved my pleasant childhood memories of Labyrinth. : )

However, everything since Labryinth (The Hot Spot, Career Opportunities, Some Girls, The Rocketeer) remained unchanged in their greatness in my memory. I can only think of two good reasons why that might be the case.

And I apologize for saying that out loud but I felt an urge to keep it real.

We always used the phrase "Ass to ass" in the office back in Scotland as an aside to describe a moment where one can go no lower. It was pretty amusing.

I remember at the time, people were all like "Jennifer Conelly gets naked in that new Requiem film!! zors!11!" and I was all like "Sweet! Sign me up!" and then afterwards I was like "Oh god. Oh god. The horror."

Sign of a good director, really. He made naked Jennifer Connelly into a scarring, horrifying experience.

I mean, who *else* are you going to get to do an anti-drug PSA? Darren pretty much wrote the book there.

Yes, I hear that.

Awesome. So noted.

Film geek in me feels compelled to mention that although that wasn't the actual actress that played Mrs. Roper, she did a darned good impression. Which is probably what you meant anyway.

Odd. I come here to see who IS this guy that keeps responding to my Vintage Ads posts, and I find out you live in the same city as me.

Speaking of live comedy, you should see MY group play. But I'll let you respond to this first :P
