Just stuff

I went to a fundraiser last night at the Anza club. The theme was Mad Hatter's party. There a lot of young quirky folks there and astoundingly, none of them looked familiar. I was reminded of the fact that this is a large city with millions of people and I don't know as many of them as I used to.

Find inner peace through outer violence

My cousin was bartending. There was a drum band and a french magician. During the drum band, there were hula hoop girls doing thier things with black light lighting up the hoops. One of the girl's bikini-style top slipped off twice until she just said "ah, screw it" and violently hula'ed topless. It was great. They were all great.

Darren Aaronofsky (The Fountain, Pi, Requiem for a Dream) has directed a series of "Don't Do Meth" advertisements. Just in case you're feeling a little too happy today and you'd like to go on a bit of a downer....
One - Two - Three - Four

The night before that I went to a graduating writing class of some student sketch comedy down at VFS that my friend Morgan directed. It was wonderful going to a sketch comedy show again. I was thinking to myself that it might actually be over ten years since I saw sketch comedy on a stage. It was like stepping into a time machine and hiding in the audience.

Tonight, I'm going to try to catch three different bands at three different locations. Should be a hoot.
