I love discussing the seuxality of the characters and find it to be one of the greatest and most important aspects of Skins. It's so much more progressive than any other teen (or even adult) shows on television, that usually have a black/white prespective on sexuality, even when they're open to LG storylines (GG, Glee [ugh], PLL, etc). The characters on Skins are rarely identify as exclusive to one gender. The attraction has always been about the person and not the gender (bar Maxxie). This series of Skins has played with that more than any other and I hope they will continue to do that and I'll be really impressed if they manage to get off without putting a label on a single character this Gen.

Yes, I agree! I can go on for days about how problematic Glee is (in most avenues) in terms of sexuality. The way they handled bisexuality disgusts me.
Honestly, I don't watch Glee anymore, I just read the re-caps when ~something important~ is happening or my friends tell me - so I don't want to sound like I'm talking out of my ass but, I swear that show is has to be one of the most sterotypical and offensive things I've ever seen. Kurt has to be one of the worst gay characters on television. I can't believe the actor won an Emmy and that show is recognized for outstanding writing. I wish more people and critics would realise that having a gay/lesbian character on a tv show doesn't necessarily make the show more open-minded or.. Shit, idk the word I'm looking for - it doesn't automatically mean it's a GOOD representation of LGBT people and should be taken as such.

I think Nick shows more signs of homosexuality than Mini tbh. All the air humping jokes with Ryder make it seem like he's hiding something, and his attitude towards Matty's implied bisexuality.
That's just Rugby rather than a genuine attraction towards guys, Mini makes just as many faux lesbian references/homophobic slurs towards Franky anyway
I think Mini is bisexual and I'm sticking to that.
I feel like this generation is more ambiguous in terms of sexuality. The only character I can really see as 100% straight is Rich, but that's just a ~vibe. I can totally see Grace/Liv/Nick/Alo experimenting and we already know that Franky is pansexual. I don't know about Matty, tbh. We haven't seen much of him on his own, since he never got an episode, (not that I even want that) for me to judge.
Wasn't Tony established as being Polysexual and Cassies "Anything That Moves" attitude in season 2 was part of breakdown and unhealthy in my mind
I'm all for not labelling like they did with Naomi but Mini I'm guessing will Identify as a lesbian or something along those lines, given her various issues it would make sense for her development to be comfortable with a label or to be in a relationship with a girl
I think getting Nick and Frook in those categories is more of a fan thing than something on the show. How are Nick or Freddie less established than Chris or JJ? Not that I want to put them in boxes, but in terms of the show, they're all in the same place, imo. I do think with Matty maybe there's something left open there because of that comment he made and that didn't sound like a joke made by him.
I feel like the show doesn't really want to label their characters and in general they're all minded and open to experiments. For some reason I could see Cassie actually in a relationship with a girl, but with Tony it all felt more like a game and he'd never really be with a guy.

I haven't seen any indication for Nick to start taking up an interest in men (as much as I wouldn't mind seeing it), but Freddie... I mean, I don't know. Pascal's Triangulation of Desire was there, whether the writers intended for it to be or not. I definitely get where people come from in terms of Freddie's sexuality. Like you said, they don't want to label their characters, so I'm not gonna try and say he's gay or anything. Just that he was emotionally invested in Cook and may've had sexually repressed feelings for him.
Well I agree a lot of people's opinions are shaped by what they like in fandom, to play devil's advocate we've never really seen Nick having a healthy or good sexual experience with a woman (maybe going down on Mini), and it would fit his whole trying to be somebody he thinks he's supposed to be, then giving it up thing. I could see Nick pulling a less creepy Tony-type thing experiementing. With the Frook, there was some pretty obvious tension between the two, which some can read as sexual tension, plus their relationship and friendship had a lot of sex in it, Effy, Cook's mom, I can't recall exactly but I feel Karen should be on there too. But yeah, they were both pretty established as liking the muff. Chris they establish firmly in the first episode, first scene he's with Bucktooth. Tony asks over the phone cuz he's going to the Big Gay Night Out, is Chris gay? It's Anwar answering but he says no. Angie, Danuta, then second season Jal, I'm sure I'm forgetting more girls. JJ was obviously pretty fixated on girls, and Effy, then that
