OK, my lovelies: I am off to Hong Kong and Sri Lanka for the next two weeks. Travel should be fun and interesting and even packed with deals because, as my friend Kevin says,"it's low season in a civil war." Hooray for travel to countries with state department warnings!

I joined a punk rock bowling league. I'm getting too old for mosh pits
After 3 days, 1 gallery opening, 3 concerts, 2 DJ sets, and 3 house parties, I think I'm done with the partying-like-a-rockstar scene for a while. And also, I don't care how much you love a band, but yelling their name, at the top of your lungs, for 10 minutes straight, is NOT going to get them to run onto the stage any earlier or faster. Four days of no sleep in a gasoline fume-filled warehouse, 100-mile rides through canyons and LA's endless urban streets, a cold day at Venice Beach, getting chased down by the LAPD, free drunken tattoo sessions, and running into old friends at Echo Park dive bars.
