Bad Hair Day

Feb 02, 2010 22:57

I mentioned a while back that I began the task of transferring my CD collection over to my computer using iTunes and was planning on getting a two terabyte external hard drive with my tax return so I'd have enough space to store them all. Well, I got my tax return Saturday and got me a new external hard drive, so the music transfer is in full swing ( Read more... )

Nice to see a post, I thought you must be away!!

I DREAD the hair dressers, because I have a fringe (bangs?), and I like it quite long, almost in my eyes, and I hate it when it gets cut too short!

Thanks! Nah, I wish I were taking a vacation or something, but I just got caught up in something and pulled a disappearing act. And now I have to go back and try to see what I missed last week. How is everything, by the way?

Haha super picky about your fringe/bangs? Cute. =D

What other bad luck? Haha yeah, I know -- I was getting very tired when I was writing the entry and left some stuff out in order to try and get it posted before I couldn't stay awake any longer. And you're the third or fourth person to ask, but it's not a hair know; it's just a perfectly placed something-or-other on the wall behind me. Haha I guess I can see why people wouldn't be surprised if it was though, considering the other hairstyles Really though, my hair's just too thick and curly to do anything with, so the ones where it's longer, is basically just what happens when it gets to that length.

33 days of music? Fuck, now I feel foolish for thinking I had a lot in 9.2 days. That's with only a small chunk of my CDs imported, though. But still.

35.4 days now -- been plugging away at it tonight. Haha I'm in the middle of importing the stuff your mom would totally approve of: my handful of christian rock bands. ; ) (hey, some of them really kick ass)

Some Christian rock bands are actually pretty damn good, I gotta say. The ones that bug me are the really synthetic, pop-y sounding ones that aren't really even rock, and all wind up sounding exactly the same after a few listens.

Demon Hunter is one of my favorite Christian rock groups. They're actually more metal, but they're pretty kickass. I was just listening to Undying by them earlier today, and I swear that song never gets old to me.

Agreed. The uber processed pop-y sounding ones and the ones that are so overly preachy that you can't possible listen without wanting gagging on the lyrics. I've never heard of Demon Hunter (sounds like a video game haha) but I'm going to look it up now. Most of the ones I know were on the radio about ten years ago when I stumbled upon the channel by accident 'cause it was right next to the local hard rock/metal channel. I've tend to tell this story like a broken record, so there's a good chance you've already heard it, but when I moved to Toledo back in '02, I was psyched to discover they had not one but two hip-hop channels while we had zero here where I grew up. However, that excitement wore off quickly when I realized they had shit for hard rock on the radio and the heaviest stuff on the air there was on the Christian station haha. Anyway, one of my favorite Christian bands is/was a fantastic industrial band called Massivivid. Here are a couple examples, starting with the slow, but beautiful "Brightblur", which is what turned me ( ... )
