Bad Hair Day

Feb 02, 2010 22:57

I mentioned a while back that I began the task of transferring my CD collection over to my computer using iTunes and was planning on getting a two terabyte external hard drive with my tax return so I'd have enough space to store them all. Well, I got my tax return Saturday and got me a new external hard drive, so the music transfer is in full swing ( Read more... )

33 days? wow, that's awesome! :O mine would only take 5 days... congrats on getting the external hard drive! :)

oh, wow! that sucks about your haircut. :( i hope the second barber was able to fix it up to your liking. i never go to the hair dresser or anything. if i get split ends or something, i just tell my mom to take an inch off the bottom, lol. needless to say, my hair's really long by now.

Thanks!

Haha I'm envious. I can't let mine grow out very long because it's way too thick and curly, and defies any attempts at styling. : / When I was a little kid, I was obsessed with Crystal Gayle, an old singer who had really long hair. =)

haha, my hair isn't quite as long as crystal gayle's yet. still needs another two feet or so, lol.

yeah, my hair's pretty thick and curly too. i usually have to put it in a ponytail or braid it to get it to look half normal.

A lot of times when I get a haircut, I can't tell if I like it or not until I get home and do my own thing with it. That's why I didn't say anything while I was still at the first barber. But oh well, I did get it fixed and it's not bad.

I usually pay between $13 and $15 and leave a $3 to $5 tip.

Dude, totally bought a clipper a few years ago and cut my own hair for a while. That was after I went to a hair cut place and had to literally instruct the woman every single step of the way how to cut my hair, and then I got so tired of it I just had her buzz it all off. It seemed ridiculous to pay sixteen bucks for a buzz after that, so I just bought one and it paid for itself after a while.

Now I got to a place near me every three weeks or so. They're good. I always get exactly what I need. If I could do it myself the way they do, I'd not be spending the money.

I got an external hard drive for my photography. Totally happy with that decision! I got a 1T, but that's all I needed, and it wasn't pricey.

Awesome. I should find a place to go to regularly so I can maybe get someone who just knows what I want and how to do it. I don't mind buzzing my own hair, but the cleanup and drain clogging does suck now and then.

I'm loving it. And it didn't even occur to me before that it would be like having my whole CD collection in that handy little portable box. That's excellent, too, because it eases a fear of mine. I live in a third floor apartment and whenever there's a tornado watch or warning -- doesn't matter where I am or how safe I might be -- my mind wanders to my precious CD collection and I have this horrible thought: what if a tornado hits the apartment and destroys my CD's? Yeah, true story.

I am not remotely surprised that you have 33 days of music on there. Of course you do. ;]

Man, I dread getting professional haircuts, because it never turns out quite the way I want it to. I'm gonna suck it up and get my hair sliced pretty short this summer, though.

If only I could look as awesome as Natalie Portman does with a buzzcut (see V for Vendetta), I'd totally go for it.

Haha I suppose you wouldn't be surprised at that. =)

Yeah, it sucks when it doesn't come out the way you want, but my biggest problem has always been telling the barber/stylist what I want done with it...because I never knew. I just want it shorter and/or cleaner and to look decent. I never have any more details than that.

Hmmm. I'm trying to picture you with a buzzcut, and...it doesn't look quite right haha. But that's not a bad thing and hey, you never know -- maybe you'd actually look stellar with one! ; )

my music library is similar...it would certainly be interesting to listen to music nonstop for an entire month! :P

I agree, you need to put up a pic of your new hair!

Haha I'm lucky enough to be able to listen to my music for most of the day at work, so I almost can listen to music for an entire month. Man... I'm the biggest music lover I know and I think I'd get sick of it if I were forced to listen nonstop for that long.
