Holidays (day 2 - and a half)

Yesterday was good. Had my driving lesson in the morning. Things progress on that front. I’m now mainly forgetting to do the little things. If I can break these habits (like forgetting to indicate as I approach a set of lights), I’m confident that I should pass ( Read more... )

OOOH!!! CAR!!!

The other day (I blame the flu), I assumed when you said 66 kms, you meant actually meant 66KMs, not 66,000. I was amazed.

I am still amazed, 66000 is still a small amount, but hahaha.

Yeah, 66,000 is tiny for a 20-year-old car. And the car's condition reflects it. Not looking forward to the workout of not having power steering, but I'll live.

But yes: CAR!!!

66 000 km is very good.

The 2Ks have one of those, from what I can tell it fulfills the requirements except for the odd bit of maintenance required for a car of that age (bits start to break when cars get that old).

My car used to be a 1.3L (bubble shape Mazda 121), and yes I had to wind it out a bit to get it to move but it was quite usable.

Sounds like a good choice to me. Good luck!

Thanks :)

boots262 suggested I ask you about giving it a bit more grunt, but I figure that I should drive it for a couple weeks before deciding to spend cash on improving an ancient car like that.

"a bit more grunt" -> I'd suggest not with this vehicle. It's carburetted (I'm pretty sure), so any major changes (such as turboing or an engine conversion) will be very difficult and expensive, even more so than usual.

Drive this car around for a while and save up for something more zippy, if that's what you want. If you don't really want something zippy, don't worry about it, it gets expensive...
