stayed overnight in the Phoeix area (Tempe) with temps apporaching 120, had a great visit with K, the new bride and we're getting ready to start the last long leg of the journey home to MI. This road trip has once again caused me to wonder at the size and variety of environment in this country.

...sorta, we're taking the southern route down from San Fran to Santa Barbara, then over to Phoenix (to visit friends and relatives). Today coming east on I-10 the temp was 111 at 8:30 PM -- staying over in Blythe, CA where the temp during the days was said to have been 115. But all is going well...still a long way to go but we WILL get back to MI.
