Yup it's Saturday, but as most of you know, to me that's just like Tuesday (or any other day). It is a bit warmer today so my outside work (gardening as well as sitting and watching one of the cats eat grass) has been limited to... oh, maybe 30 minute stretches alternated with inside activities (or inactivities). It's Saturday and the sun is shining, looks to be a beautiful day with temp going to somewhere around 70F. This is delightful, especially considering the chilly, rainy weather we've been having. I see a bit of sunshine peeking in through the kitchen window. That's always encouraging but the temp went down into the 30s F last night! Often a good day to catch up on things, but since every day is pretty much the same to me, I just accept Sunday as it comes. Finally... winter has broken and riding weather is here again. The Harley is smiling and so am I. Seeya on the road... ride safe. And you drivers: watch out for us, we're not as big as you and therefore a little harder to see. :)

I've outlasted the chilly, rainy, stay-inside days here in MI. Quite nice today so out to the yard for some playing in the dirt, then a bike ride to feel the warm breeze seducing me to the open road. Am again contemplating getting a true road bike, the Sportster is just a little too ... stiff for long trips. I want a long trip. How long? I dunno ( Read more... )

finally the sun shines here in MI ... aaand in a short while the bike comes out of the garage

...sorta, we're taking the southern route down from San Fran to Santa Barbara, then over to Phoenix (to visit friends and relatives). Today coming east on I-10 the temp was 111 at 8:30 PM -- staying over in Blythe, CA where the temp during the days was said to have been 115. But all is going well...still a long way to go but we WILL get back to MI.

Well, there's still new years to look forward to. Christmas eve was fun, if subdued, we put on dinner here with some of Wendy's fam. Her sons arrived a bit late and soaking wet from changing a tire on the way...in the rain. Flat tire caused by elephant-trap sized pothole in the freeway.
