"Yeah, I don't think it really counts. The police couldn't help with something like this anyways, could they?"

Despite the fact that she makes every effort to seem light and carefree, she can't help but feel a sense of dread as they make their way towards the stairwell. Even if he'd told her he would take care of it, she had no way of knowing what they were about to be up against. Still, if she could help him stay safe, and make sure nobody else was hurt by the witch... That would be worth it.

There was no doubt she needed her Soul Gem cleansed, either - after Raven and Tyrell had died, and Jack had went missing, it had darkened quite a bit in the past week.

While the two chatted on, Kyubey had made himself rather comfortable hanging off of Ahiru's shoulder like he sometimes did, cold unblinking eyes fixated ahead as he kept himself alert. They were finally on the path of a Witch and that meant there'd be a Grief Seed as the prize. The last time he'd had one was when he'd gone hunting with Joe. That had been ages ago.

Needless to say, if Kyubey could've felt happiness, it would've been now. Instead a primitive form of anticipation had built up inside him as he hung off the young girl(duck)'s shoulder's. He could already feel the vibrational changes in the pair's Soul Gems as they continued to move forward in their search. They were getting closer. Much closer.

"The police would be useless." He piped up eventually, scrambling down Ahiru's body to trail alongside the two as they continued to walk. "And you're right Joe, they aren't people." Well, not anymore.

"It's gotta be close- just up here!"

Joe was enthusiastic, because this was more than his usual adventure, day to day between jobs. He was also still riding high off the thrill of the long night behind him, Pickles' DIY punk concert, which had been...an experience, to say the least.

His ears still ached and throbbed a little from the memory of bass echoing against them, and so his voice was both unconsciously louder and a bit raspier than usual ( ... )

As he started descending down the steps quicker, she increased her pace, trying not to make him wait too long. While he was fighting off exhaustion, she was trying to move past her own hesitance; despite the fact that he'd described his last fight with her, she still didn't have a good idea of what to expect. If he had done it alone before, it was sure to be fine, especially with two people, but...

"Maybe it made it here because a lot of people come here." She said, looking up thoughtfully. "Let's just hope everyone here is still okay! All the boys too."
