Lucky Rin wasn't at work when the new tenant arrived. She was at the kitchen table working on homework instead, but had the presence of mind to look up and smile somewhat, pushing her chair back and leaving her book with a mechanical pencil resting in the dip at the spine.

"Hi there."

The first thing Evangeline thought when seeing Rin was that she must have adjusted pretty well. She was dressed in modern clothing, working on... homework? Was there a functioning school system here? Or was it something else?

Still, it was good to see her again. Even if she wasn't quite the same.

Evangeline tried to smooth her expression, walking over and propping her bag upright. "Are you the one in charge of this place?"

Rin watched the young girl closely. She recognized the voice, and felt pretty hesitant about being overtly friendly towards this... girl, apparently, who'd made such dramatic declarations of villainy over the network.

But still, manners were manners, and she was running the place, as Eva suspected. "That's right. Is that all you have?" Said with a nod towards the luggage.

The lack of real recognition still cut into Evangeline, even though she expected it. The way Rin saw her was as a stranger moving in: a stranger who declared herself a villain, not that Evangeline would consider taking that back. They had once been friends, somebody that Rin could trust for advice and assistance. That was simply gone.

But the vampire had seen more in her lifetime than people forgetting people, and she would simply work to reestablish what they once had.

Giving a smile, though one would hardly call it a kind one, she replied. "All that's worth taking."
