[So here is France, in the kitchen, doing his French thing and cooking up some boeuf bourguignon for the whole house, while he's humming happily to himself. He adds a pinch of a few spices, to taste, and then continues stirring and humming. The smell is wafting up through practically the entire house. (If anyone happens to be a vegetarian, there's a tossed salad already sitting on the counter.)

Come bug him?]

[The new house he and his friends moved into was too big, and at the moment too noisy with the move and clean up. Work was too busy and he had the afternoon off from one anyhow. Waiting for a car part killed his time working on his car. So what does he do? Stop by his other place of residence.]

[He had come in without key, invisible like normal. His bag appeared suddenly on a couch in the common area, leaving it safely there as he sniffs out the smell coming from the kitchen commons.]

[Seeing the blond in the kitchen he just watched, for a bit, before saying:] Smells good.

[Yes, he had forgotten to come visible again, the habit of walking around unseen being so natural now. So yes, that was a disembodied voice.]

[Francis was in the middle of dashing some more pepper in, and setting down the container, when he heard the voice behind him. Letting out a yelp that sounded a mix between a miniature poodle and a prepubescent girl, he dropped the container, the contents spilling sporadically over the countertop before it rolled to a stop. He whipped around to see who it was, but he saw no one. That meant it only had to be one person, seeing as only one person (that he knew of, at least) could turn invisible in the House.]

D-don't startle me like that, s'il vous plaît!

[Oops. He blinked, looking down at himself and seeing floor.] Ah... sorry. [He murmured and came into view, a hand rubbing the back of his neck, sheepish and apologetic.] Bad habit.

[He stepped in a bit farther, moving to a distant counter, not getting too close but trying to see what was being made.] Didn't mean to startle you. [sounds like he would have startled him if he was visible or not, really.]

[Blaine shows up on Sunday with the pizzas he promised. He has so many of them though that his short self can barely hold them all. Please someone help before he ends up dropping some?]

[And there's a set of hands grabbing the top few.]

Pizza! Life saver. I'd kiss you, but I just got done working out.

[A smile and a wink. Jubilee's in her uniform, and looks sweaty, but she nods to the kitchen.]

C'mon. We'll put these in the kitchen. How're you doing?

[Blaine smiles his thanks to her and follows to the kitchen]

I'm better than I was. [pause] I got a lot of different kinds, I hope it's enough...

Dude, if it's not, then we'll just order more.

... Ew. Veggie. Michael and Emma. [She sets that one to the side.]

So, movies that go boom! I've got them up in my place, but we can move it down here for more social stuff, just lemme grab a shower. I totally fail at watching the time when I'm working out.

Emma suggested 6 pm, and gave directions from the Baxter stop. Baxter stop is in the fourth sector, but the address is on the border of ninth.

(There are no doorbells on the exterior, but as promised, the porch is open.)

Elaine found the place easily enough, and walked through the porch. Since it was her first visit, she buzzed to let them know she was there, rather than wander through the house in search of her hostess.

"It's open. One minute."

It's less than that before Emma steps out from the next room with a pair of glasses and a pair of pitchers. "This can be thirsty work," she says.

Elaine entered, waiting patiently, and smiling when Emma emerged. "Can't be worse than the sort of training I grew up with," she quipped, thinking of the bruises and broken ribs that Harry had gotten from trying to create a magical shield while their mentor had pitched baseballs at them at incredibly high speeds. But that was nothing compared to the time their mentor had broken into her mind and turned her into a puppet for his will.

Never again.

After some discussions, Onyx and Emma and Michael had agreed to meet at the House of Awesome on Sunday at noon, brunch to be included. Michael and Emma gave Onyx directions from the Baxter Street subway stop and a warning that while the house was nice, the neighborhood was run down.

[OOC: The Baxter Street subway stop is in Sector 4: middle class to lower class. The HoA is only about three blocks away, but it's right on the border between Sector 4 and Sector 9 (lower class to slums).]

Well, the warning was nice to have. Otherwise she'd have changed her mind about wanting to live here even before she'd ever set foot into it. So she was skeptical, after seeing the neighborhood, but not entirely turned off, as she arrived at the door and waited to be shown in.

"Hello, Onyx," said the blond woman opening the door. The opened door reveals only a vestibule, with a few places to sit, a closed door on the other side and a more complicated arrangement of buzzers next to the door. The porch, at least, is a step up from the neighborhood.

The woman continued, "As you have probably guessed, I'm Emma. Michael is throwing something together for brunch. Come on in."

[OOC: Onyx would be familiar with the enter-into-a-small-room design from castles; it does help against ground attacks.]

She glanced back as soon as the door was opened, already looking more pleasant. She'd learned a good deal about interacting politely with humans during her six-month stay in the similarly contemporary City. She entered with a quick glance around (one can never be too sure what might be trapped, after all) and headed for a seat.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Emma." No, that didn't seem quite like enough in the way of manners. She'd have to layer it on a little more. "Thanks for taking the time to see me."

She'd cringe over it later, paying so much respect to a human, but it would do for now.

[Jubilee is getting some exercise to work off stress before bed. Emma woke up early, didn't feel like zapping herself back to sleep, and is working off some stress before starting the day. Neither sees the need for swimsuits, though technically it's in between the night and the morning swimsuit-optional hours.]

Emma is doing laps, mechanically. There's a towel and a pile of stuff (shirt, dry bikini, a couple books, her NV, a water bottle, a thermos and a plastic mug, etc.) on a chair under a sunlamp.

A long night at the Gate, then a run home. With a few stops. Technically, she'd gotten off at three, but they'd needed a few things and Jubes didn't feel the need to pay for them. With Batman around that is a dangerous prospect, but he could kiss her ass. Detonation at a subatomic level. The only thing that holds her back is Wolverine's teachings.

She isn't surprised to see Emma up, though. Some things, amongst mutants is universal... like insomnia, or the inability to sleep for long.

She strips out of her robe - not having worn anything but that - and drops it and her towel on a chair. "Mornin'." She slips into the water with a slight shiver.

"Morning." Emma flipped over to continue her laps in backstroke. "How was your night?" [Unspoken subtext: please tell me it was better than mine.]

"Long." Jubilee tread water for a moment before beginning to pace Emma's laps with her own. "Typical, but long. Glad to have the night off tonight."

Jubilee hasn't been sleeping well. Having a mutant in jail hits all those hot buttons and terror spots that she normally can hide. But with the threat of hunts again, she's worried that 'human' doesn't include 'mutant'.

"You're up early."
