That is why he's here at the festival, taking advantage of this opportunity. He drank the lemonade, rented out a square on the sidewalk, and settled down beside a bucket of colored chalk. With his uniform jacket taken off and shirtsleeves rolled up, he draws and draws without getting a speck of dust on himself. His artwork is shockingly realistic due to how it creates an optical illusion: transforming the imagery from two dimensions into all three. It's a technique called trompe-l'œil, with history dating back to before Jesus Christ ( ... )

There are many many people, and Crona slinks along edges and waits for groups to pass and occasionally finds the shade next to a tree and stands there staring down at the grass until it feels a little less alive everywhere ( ... )

How did you do it?
[Crona opens a hand over the picture, not quite touching it, but wanting to, wanting to see what the chalk felt like.
A lifetime of not needing to fear anything, of being broken just enough to not be scared has done a lot to Crona that will never be fixed. Crona was never taught to fear strangers. This man smiles and says "good afternoon", and so Crona is not afraid.]

Someone who would really like a day out like this.
So he made sure that when Namine woke up she didn't get the time peek at it, just told her that they were going to go out and do something special. It was going to be a good surprise. He made her put on sunscreen in case it got bright, and wear a wide-brimmed hat with one of her sundresses, and then they went down to the subway, riding the line all the way to Orchard Stop.
When they arrived at the school, it was busier than he expected, and there were only a few unclaimed squares still left open. They were in a nice shadier spot near a bench at least, and so he bought one for her with his munny and handed the blonde girl a pail of chalk with a warm smile.
"You go start on it, okay? I'm going to get us some lemonade."

When she did catch his voice, she sat straight up on her heels and nodded a thanks. Her eyes trailed from the sidewalk square to him, and back again. Maybe it wasn't his intention, but Naminé felt like he was waiting for her, and with not knowing what to exactly, it wasn't going to help her come up with something special for him.
Unless maybe...
She turned back to him with a shy smile, "Do you... want to draw with me?"

At least she didn't have to worry about cleaning house. Much. Apparently, when you inherited a domicile, you also inherited the invisible house-elves that nobody ever talks about.
She did have to worry about networking. And actually working. And keeping her magical supplies stocked. But she figured if she hit the fundraiser, she could hit all of the above, and maybe keep an eye out for news of Harry as well. Chalk is always handy in the hands of a wizard--and besides. Elaine liked kids.

She glanced up as the spot next to her was taken. "Claudio! Wondered if I'd see you out here." She began filling in some of the clouds. "What's up?"

Drawing. It was something he did extremely well and something he got paid for. It felt odd to be paying to draw, especially on sidewalk where it will wash away by the nightfall. Still... it was an interesting idea, and it was to help someone out.
He knew if Jinx had the time for it she would show up, but he also had the feeling he'd know another artist who would be here. When he saw her already drawing he smiled. "Figured I'd see you out here as well." Yep, sure enough Jubilee would be here. Taking the empty space beside her he crouched down, leaning in to look a bit.
"She's pretty. I like the hair." He smirked, settling back on his square and dusting it off with a hand.

The picture is just an outline for right now, but she's hoping to get it done.
"Thanks." Jubilee leaned in, blending colors again. "Got a plan for what you're doing?" She asked.
