The rain had put the boy in a bad mood all day. By time he got to work he was soaked and pinkish red, like spoiled meat or something. He showered at work, changed and did a few hours feeling grouchy and annoyed. Wet people coming in and dripping on the bar or floor all night. It was like people had never been in rain before. Forgot how to deal ( ... )

He was silent for a moment, hands fidgeting with his cup, uneasy. He wasn't sure how to make his proper point across and he was pretty sure Michael didn't get it. Not that he made himself sound good in the first place ( ... )

"Ah." Erik thought about a way to address what he believed the problem to be while testing the circuits on the motherboard. A feel places needed more work and he picked up the soldering gun to work a bit more.

"My daughter has to deal with that. It can be quite frightening." He beckoned a chip to him and laid it into place. "And a lot to deal with."

He leaned on the table once again, fidgeting hands holding the cup carefully. "Your daughter, sir... she can... I donno, resurrect people? I mean, how can that even be a power. It's not--" He stopped, knowing how dumb that sounded.

With a sigh he rubbed his face, shaking his head. "No, I know it can be a power, but it's a real shitty one, along with everything else I've been picking up it seems." He shook his head, just frowning. "I didn't want to hurt that guy. I mean I didn't. But I think bringing him back to life that..." was stupid. he stared at computer parts now, blankly.

"She alters reality. No matter how small the probability of something occurring, as long as it can occur, she can make it happen. And there are extremely few absolutes to the laws of the universe. So she can do pretty much whatever she pleases."

It was a sobering think to think about. Which was why he rarely did.

"I know you didn't. What else is going on?"

"She sounds pretty amazing." He said vaguely wondering if that would put her in some relation to Billy. He had never heard hard fact, other then the word 'grandson' here or there. Still, Michael's daughter must have gone through hell.

He rubbed at the back of his head, a nervous habit of his, frowning. "It's growing into a long list, that is. When the power problems hit a few months back I got so sick. Like I shut down or something." Which is true, the not human side of him, the micro organism robotic side of him closed off. "I found before i got here that i could haul a ton of weight across a room in a blink. I'm only starting to figure out how to control it but the amount of weight is... well, un-human. That guy in the riot... it was just... just like my sister. And... just the other day I heard this guy got hit by a car after leaving the club I work at and all I could think was that I could go out and help him but... I got no idea how to do that."

There was something in what he was saying that was alarming to Erik. Not the words, not really. Powers in this place where strange, Gods and angels and devils and Mutants and so much more where trapped here. The laundry list of powers didn't surprise him. No, it was what he had said.

"If the Core shut off your powers, and then turned them back on, you are probably having a power surge. The can be frightening. All of the channels, the different complexities of your powers making a jump in maturity. It's not uncommon with Mutants. The same could be true for you. Sometimes we just know how to use our powers, like we know how to breathe, and learning to play with that is what we need to do."

"Yeah, it was when the core shut everyone's power down, or... or swapped them, or made them more powerful? I just got... sick. Couldn't go invisible or nothing. They had me at Skye for a few days till I just... woke up." He shrugged slightly, staring at the coffee again.

"If that was it and it just... made all this shit wake up or something then... I mean, I thought the one or two things I could do was cool, but now it's starting to get ridiculous. And how do I even... figure this shit out? It's not like I got something in my head saying 'Oh, you know how to do this' or nothin'."

"It takes time, practise, patience. Which is none of what you want to hear, I'd imagine. I wasn't happy about it when I was young either. I'm working on something that might help, but it's not finished yet." And he didn't want it to be common knowlegde either. But what to do?

"But I will help you, in every way I can."

"I'm trying to be patient and practice and all that. Samus has been working with me on that um... super... strength thing of mine. I can almost get that to work at will and not just when I'm scared or pissed or something. But I mean, seriously, how do you practice bringing someone back to life? That's... impossible, other then actual field work." Which was not an idea he liked to think about ( ... )

"Apprentice to a healer. Bringing them back to life is just a form a healing. A large and rare form of healing. I don't mean practise bring the dead back - just learn about the healing process."

He smiles. "Yes, something. Something I'd rather not share with many. It's something from my world. Something that helps with training." He tapped the tablet, his hand sparking, and touched the power port. Worked perfectly. "I'd imagine so. I'm one of the oldest, so..." He's been alone, most of the time.

At the question he looked up. "I do. My people, for one, need me. My son, my two daughters. My granddaughter. Katherine, who might as well as bee my granddaughter. Charles. I still have a great deal of work to do at home."

"Oh..." Healing. He hadn't really thought of it that way, as... as the wounds didn't heal. He had just brought life back. This did give him something more to think on though, and he wondered if it was the same. "Healing... yeah. That would have been the logical first thought."

He watched the computer crackle to life, giving the man a small nod. He understood wanting to keep things silent. After all he had his secrets as well (being clearly crazy being one of them, he was sure). "I don't know nothing." He said as ensnarement that he wont press the subject or tell anyone.

There was the faintest of sad little smiles at that. "Heh, so it sounds like you've got a pretty big family back home to return to. Sounds nice. I'm sure if time moved back there they'd miss you."

"It may not be the right track, but it's a place to start." And without Wanda here, that was all he could offer.

"Atta boy. I'll let you when it's up and running. You won't be able to get to it without myself or Jubilee anyway." Safety protocols. There were going to be a LOT of them.

"I suppose. My family numbered in the hundreds, once. There aren't even ten of us now, just myself and my progeny. So it seems very small."

"No, it's a good idea. Just... I donno, didn't think of that at all. So I gotta find some hurt people and try to heal em huh? Should be a snap here." Considering how often he himself bleed here? Yeah...

He gave a nod to that. "Keeping things safe. Makes sense. I'll look forward to hearing about it though."

Leaning on the table he pondered that over. In the hundreds? He couldn't even imagine. "Small. I understand that one. I think I just realized just how little there is to return to now." They were all dead after all. Realizing this power in full also told him his sister really wouldn't have lived. He knew that though but the denial had been there for over two years.

"There's a little more to it than that. You have to know, either instinctively or through training how to put a body back together. Which is why I suggest finding one of the healers and learning with them." There was also some thought that learning something of telepathy - because if the conciousness is gone, the body won't live, no matter what, but that could wait.

He nodded. Safety, security, training. Preparedness.

"At your age? It was the same for me. Rebuilding can - and does - occur. As this place proves."

"So... look for a healer. That... can't be too hard?" Can it? There were healers everywhere in this city, right? Hmmm, he would have to consider it more. He had Samus helping with some training, but now to get someone else to help.

He shook his head at the last part though. "I'm rebuilding here though. I've got Trauma and Jinx and her stupid angel. It's more then I'll ever have back home. I don't want to go back home. There's.... there is too much..." He shook his head, leaning back into the chair now, frowning. "There is too much back home for me to deal with and no one left to rebuild with."
