With the attack in full retreat, it was time for Samus to be following suite. The power had gone out with no warning at all, and she didn't like the sensation of dread that was starting to build in her chest. Something about the Darkness was different tonight, something sinister.

The cops and voids were all tucked into the Core area so it was time to make her withdrawal, moving through the dugouts towards...hey was that...Snake?

Drawing the Paralyzer she sighted along it's length, trying to dispel the dizziness Liquid's assault had left her with. Once she had a solid target, she let fly with a bolt of blue plasma.

Snake hit the ground hard and rolled with the impact, righting himself enough to kneel and bring his pistol up, aiming at the shifting black-on-black shadow that was the darkness monster as it turned to charge again.

Before it could, though, it was struck down suddenly and improbably by a flash of blue light, almost painfully bright in the pitch dark. He blinked hard to clear his vision and spun in the direction the attack had come from.

"Come on out," he ordered harshly, weapon and guard up. "Slowly." The enemy of his enemy was not always a friend.

Habit kicked in and she snapped the Paralyzer up in response...although apparently he couldn't see her. Letting it drop to one side she pulled the dark hood from her head and walked forward slowly, hands up...and an amused smirk on her face.

"You gonna cuff me Snake?"

"...Samus?" A surprise, but not, for once, a bad one. Snake tipped his head slightly and he lowered his weapon as she got closer and his eyes readjusted to the dark. He stood slowly, rolling his shoulder where the thing had gotten its claws into him.

"Guess I owe you one." He said, rechecking the ammunition of his pistol and sliding the magazine back into place with a snap.

"Dodge the bullets next time." She said with a grin and a finger in his face, before standing slowly to saunter over to the sink. Everything needed to be cleaned before being put away.

"You got any booze? I'm betting you could use a shot of something with a little kick to it."

Samus, brosis, you had him at "booze." He knew he liked you for a reason ( ... )

"Will do." Darkness infested water made everything harder, but thankfully they had a reserve she could use to get the worst of it off.

A quick search revealed the glasses, as well as both bottles, so she sauntered into the living room with all four. "I can't read the label, but I'm betting you don't keep your Kool-Aid in a bottle like this. Ah, whiskey." She nodded, once the light showed what she was holding.

"Mhm. Help yourself." He hummed a vague thanks and sat up, leaning forward to accept the bottle. It was, practically, a pretty bad idea to be drinking after being injured but Snake was never really all that great at taking care of himself off a battlefeild anyway. He poured several fingers worth and knocked it back right away, giving it a second or two to go down before leaning back into the couch to address her again. The slow burn was a familiar and welcome distraction from the sharper pain of the injury.

"...There's a few empty rooms, if you'd rather get some shut-eye." Several of them, in fact. Snake mostly had the house to himself, these days. "Morning won't be for another few hours."
