To Yazoo, it is perfect.
The headlights of his motorbike are among the first to streak though the baseball field, the Remnant himself opening fire on those ahead before they have a chance to figure out what is happening. The voids keep him from his usual tricks, but it does nothing to hinder the accuracy on Velvet Nightmare or his speed, a silver and black blur as the first lines of defense and offense clash.]

Especially when the silver-haired man opened fire on the guards around the Core. He wasn't a Hollow, but Byakuya had said if the police needed him, he would help - he expected the same thing from them.
When his kidou didn't work, Byakuya suffered a moment of disbelief. It appeared that the Voids and Nulls took all of his powers away. Irritating, but he could get around it.
Namely by standing in front of the bike and pitching a rock straight at the attacker's head, then getting the hell out of the way. Well, that should get his attention.]

Mako streaked eyes glittered bright as he pulls the back wheel of the motorbike around to drop into a long side skid, dodging the rock before he lept off the bike and toward the attacker who dare thought something as little as that could stop him, the loud whipcrack of a retort from Velvet Nightmare announcing the next spray of bullets even as his bike continued to skid into the nearest group of officers.

The first slash was going to tell him if this man knew anything about defending against a sword or if he depended solely on his barbaric weapons. If it connected, it would take off the head.]

Bursting from the dugout she sprinted to a makeshift barricade. The Paralyzer came out and she fired a snap-shot without aiming across the field. No sense shooting AT this guy just yet, but maybe a warning shot of bright blue plasma might make them back off.

The blackness of her clothing was to her advantage; Liquid couldn't read where the shot came from precisely enough to shoot her. A general direction was easy. Precise shots were not and he did not intend to waste his ammunition firing blindly into the dark like a rookie. Instead, he dropped low to minimise the target, heading in the vague direction the attack had come from.

Keeping low she scurried to another point of cover. Fire and move, it was one of the first things she had learned. Otherwise you tended to get shot the second time you fired.
Craning her head around the side, low to the ground, she scanned the field, looking for for her next shot.

Even if the woman was pretty much clueless in several social aspects, she excelled at this kind of thing.
Once she had stalked a large enough portion of the area (and she wasn't cocky enough to believe she could cover the entire area by herself), she began to shoot at small gatherings of guards, constantly moving around to try to find cover in the very few areas of cover on the field. Her weapon of choice, as always, was the FN P90 -- a submachine gun designed by the Belgians to be lightweight, but pack enough of a punch to pierce armor.
Although there was some part of her ( ... )

Not that it mattered anyway -- these bastards had it coming anyway, didn't they?
Regardless, upon hearing the all-too-familiar growl of Snake's voice behind her, she froze as an alarmed expression spread across her face -- unseen from Snake's view. She might have been confused the first time she spoke with him, but she knew now that he was the same person who had defeated her in battle -- albeit a younger version.]
Snake.
[She acknowledged him with a certain purr in her voice, similar to how she spoke with him during their battle, in his future. Sarina then bowed her head down, chuckling a little, before slowly ( ... )

[His aim dipped minutely at the sound of his codename, momentarily caught off guard. If the strange tone in her voice wasn't odd enough the fact that she knew him was. Their only conversation had been brief and unremarkable, and Snake may have been exaggerating when he told Meryl that he never forgot a lady. So for her to recognize him, just by the sound of his voice, was unexpected, to say the least. Snake's been keeping a pretty low profile in the city. Back home he had a reputation to precede him. Here, not so much. And Sarina is from years in his future.]
[He watched her turn, keeping a close eye on her weapon and readjusting his aim accordingly. He wasn't shooting to kill today; not if he didn't have to. But she didn't know that.]
I don't need to. You guys ought to quit while you're ahead.
[They've more than shot themselves in the foot already, they didn't need his help with it. He jerked his head to the side.]
Put your gun on the ground.

He's still capable of defending himself and attacking, however. After watching Kadaj, someone he didn't know but knew of as the one meant to steal the Core, he'd dove right in to distracting the guards. It was a rush, and any apprehension he might have had about throwing himself in without his viral abilities was thrown to the wind. Something was getting done.
Of course, if anyone wanted to fight on a more personal level, he had a mind to take it out of range of the voids. Alex kept himself alert, expecting the attack to draw at least some attention. And surely not everyone in the Port would be on their side.]

when the c4 bomb went off though, her attention was definitely grabbed and she was watching from further above and seeing that hooded figure acting like a violent idiot. this was a fight that couldn't be avoided.
she jumped down, her landing resulting in a rather large crater, the ground shaking a bit before she was already pulling her fist back, ready to land the first hit ]
What the hell do you think you're doing!?

She didn't appear to want to fight with them. And that was a problem. Alex immediately started to run, away from the voids, far enough to be able to activate his abilities. He was certain he'd need to use them.]

she should've expected it. she really should have. ]

coming to a halt once he was in range of some guards, Cross' posture turned to one of almost playful aggression. sliding the tip of the stun baton against the ground as he stalked around, sparks hissing and bouncing off the surface. he would wait for their first move. give them the chance to leave if they desired. he knew of the underlying cowardice men often carried, and his body type alone was intimidating enough back home. a man who could snap an arm or leg like a twig. they'd be smart to leave. ]
