Introductions happen here. rapturescreed January 5 2011, 21:57:05 UTC
[Raul was standing near the table, looking out on the small group that he had gathered here. To start things off, he was giving everyone enough time to meet each other, and get to know one another.]

As you all know, my name is Raul Creed. I am head of security here at Lion’s Gate, and previously, back home, I was head of security for my city. To make this easier, if you could introduce yourself to everyone, along with what you do while currently living in Siren’s Port, I believe will make sure that everyone knows who everyone else is.

[Once everyone introduced themselves, the meeting would begin, with everyone taking a seat at the round table.]

[Black Mask is sitting comfortably, his hands folded before him and resting on the table, and looking every bit like a businessman from hell. His eyes move around the table as he speaks, making contact with each of the attendants.]

Roman Sionis, business investor.

[It's quite awkward to be here, representing one side of the law, but sitting among others who are anything but. Still, he knows some of the faces, and introduces himself to those he doesn't, only making certain not to be the first to do so.]

Phoenix Wright. I'm a defense attorney, but my firm offers legal advice to newcomers in every field for no charge.

[He sits again.]

[Re-l sits near Fratley, legs crossed, NV open on her desk and turned off with the exception of the recorder she has for taking minutes. She glances around at everyone as well; their names have all appeared in her office at least once when their time was up at the Tower Apartments. She gives a slight smile, one that barely touches her lips.]

Re-l Mayer, newcomer case worker and police officer.

Outlining what will happen starts here. rapturescreed January 5 2011, 21:58:09 UTC
[Raul stood up as everyone sat down, to begin the meeting.]As I said in my invitation, this is the first meeting of what I hope will become a driving force within the city. As Newcomers, we are given immigrant status, though many of us now call this city our home; some of us have no other home to go back to, if we are given that opportunity. I feel that while we are here, then it is best that we start making the changes to this place that we would want to see in the future. The time is now to band together to make these changes; by forming a political party all our own, that has the needs of Newcomers, as well as the rest of the city, at the forefront of our plans, we can have the power to make these changes ( ... )

Mmmm~, nothing like becoming Siren's Port's elite.

[He hums, head resting in his hand and other hand toying with a pencil, holding it vertically against the table by its eraser.]

[Erik had come with some notes already - he had, after all, some experience in this, and begin sketching out notes on the pad as soon as the introductions where finished, and as was his habit, they were in code and a mix of languages.]

I suppose we should start with the basics - what do we see as the problems we need to fix, what priority we are assigning them, and what would we want this city to be. I would be surprised if there was less than have a dozen differing ideas between us, but without a clear idea of what we are wanting to do, we're nothing more than children playing beside each other.

As I have said to a few others, this island is not that dissimilar from the country that has become my home, and faces some of the same challenges. But given in my world, Genosha devolved into civil war before things were stabilized. I'd prefer that not to happen here.

[He's prefer it, but he was not opposed to it - but he was willing to find another way.]

[Re-l closes her NV and straightens in her chair, looking at everyone.]

The problems are many, obviously. The police force is corrupt save for a few individuals, the Chief included. The companies are the greatest source of economy that this city has and yet they can control anything they want. There's a huge disparity between the upper class and the lower class; crime runs rampant in smaller and poorer districts and shows no sign of stopping. Even our own newcomers vary between helping and being trouble. We've been the bane of their existence, here.

[She pauses.]

The only person who stands between the companies and holds any sway is Governor Redgrave...and no one's heard from him since the Core news came out. So far, he has offered us help and then immediately withdrew from the public view.

If the newcomers have any hope of making a change in this world, then I believe we need to run for a public office and start making a difference.

One on one talks happen here. rapturescreed January 5 2011, 21:58:46 UTC
[After their talk about the main objective, and what they all wanted to accomplish, Raul stood up once again, waiting for everyone to settle down.]

You all have papers on what we have discussed, and I am sure there are those who have taken notes. For those who haven’t, I will have my personal assistant send you the minutes of this meeting. For now, lets take a break, and we will reconvene in half an hour.

There is food and drink for those who wish for some.

[With that, he pulled away from the table to check on some things, letting everyone mingle about and discuss what they had just heard.]

[After all that talking, Phoenix desperately needs a glass of water. It's definitely a relief to stand up, though there was a certain dread in returning to the table and carrying on where they'd left off, like a particularly long court-case with no ending in sight.]

Mr. Wright, we may not have talked before, but I'm glad that you were able to make it to this meeting.

[Raul stood next to him, voice soft enough so that it was a conversation for two.]

We have connections with the main prosecutors office, but to have someone on the other side of the law is always needed.

I haven't been here nearly as long as some of the prosecutors, so it was a surprise to be invited.

[His mouth is still painfully dry but it seems rude to have more than a tiny sip. Even that helps, though.]

It's great to see so many people driving toward the same goal, wanting the same thing, even though we're all so different.

Ending comments and anything extra happens here. rapturescreed January 5 2011, 21:59:23 UTC
[They had come back after that hour, had talked, had finished talking, and now all that was left was for anything else anyone wanted to talk about. Or it could be time to say goodbye to everyone, and plan for when the next meeting should be held, and where.

It was really left up to everyone else what would happen next.]
