One on one talks happen here. rapturescreed January 5 2011, 21:58:46 UTC
[After their talk about the main objective, and what they all wanted to accomplish, Raul stood up once again, waiting for everyone to settle down.]

You all have papers on what we have discussed, and I am sure there are those who have taken notes. For those who haven’t, I will have my personal assistant send you the minutes of this meeting. For now, lets take a break, and we will reconvene in half an hour.

There is food and drink for those who wish for some.

[With that, he pulled away from the table to check on some things, letting everyone mingle about and discuss what they had just heard.]

[After all that talking, Phoenix desperately needs a glass of water. It's definitely a relief to stand up, though there was a certain dread in returning to the table and carrying on where they'd left off, like a particularly long court-case with no ending in sight.]

Mr. Wright, we may not have talked before, but I'm glad that you were able to make it to this meeting.

[Raul stood next to him, voice soft enough so that it was a conversation for two.]

We have connections with the main prosecutors office, but to have someone on the other side of the law is always needed.

I haven't been here nearly as long as some of the prosecutors, so it was a surprise to be invited.

[His mouth is still painfully dry but it seems rude to have more than a tiny sip. Even that helps, though.]

It's great to see so many people driving toward the same goal, wanting the same thing, even though we're all so different.

Yes, it is, isn't it? [Lips quirk slightly as he nods.]

How is your office doing, if I may ask?

It's a lot more work than I was used to at home. I only took criminal cases, and even then I didn't tend to work for a fee, but here I have a lot more work to do, on things that at home I wasn't even qualified for.

[It's been a certain wake up call, and he's been seriously working from dawn until dusk every day. It's all very new to him.]

Like what?

Putting through deeds, giving financial and soliciting support. There's a lot of paperwork that newcomers are presented with here when they sign rental agreements or join a place of work that isn't above board, and it holds us back and denies us money and comforts, that kind of thing. Unless you read the small print you might be signing your life away to AGI.

The problem really is making sure people are aware of what we can do for them, and what might happen if we aren't involved.

There's a lot of Newcomers coming to this place every day. They need to be made aware of these things more, because I know that not many of them are looking for those kind of things, and will sign anything you put in front of them.

That's a very good point, and I'd like that to be included in whatever plan we develop.

I think there's two possible ways. Either advertise the business in the news feed every other week, or perhaps drop fliers at the apartment building. What would you suggest, though? Something permanent?

I believe advertising in the news feed is going to be one of the best bets to start out with. But I do believe that the greeters are not doing their job well enough when it comes to informing people as they arrive; the amount of questions still asked are numerous.

A packet of information, complete with names and NV contact numbers for people who can help, is something that I believe should be made. Would you consent to having your name in that?

Of course I consent. It's a great idea, though I don't think it should be too much information. The need to ask questions is a good drive for people to use the network the first time, and making contact with other newcomers is the most important thing, I think. More important than knowing everything in the first few hours of having arrived here.

[He smiles.]

But a leaflet for them to study in those first few days when they've got nothing else to do might have a lasting effect, and they can always stick it in their pocket for later.

I agree. A pamphlet would be beneficial; we don't need to cover everything, but enough to let them know a few things before they start making mistakes such as signing any documents from the companies.

[Nods.] An overview, rather then anything in depth.

Then I'm with you on that, Mr. Creed. Don't forget that if you need any help with anything yourself you're welcome to come to us. We've always got time for new cases and responsibilities where newcomers are involved.

[Well, we make time somehow, anyway.]

We'll do everything we can.

Thank you. I'm glad I can count on your support. If you'll excuse me, I'd like to check up on a few of the other people here before we reconvene.

[Smiles and nods.]

[Edgeworth sees Phoenix stand up and go over for refreshment. He debates internally for a moment, then swallows and rises and goes over to join him. He's tense, uncomfortable, uncertain, but his face when he greets Phoenix is far from unfriendly.]

Wright.
