Is everyone aware that CREDIT CARDS DO NOT OPERATE IN THIS CITY?!

A travesty! A dilemma indeed! Oh, the shame of the situation! I discovered a perfectly wonderful commoner's grocery store, right down the street from the apartment building. [gets all shiny eyed] It was full of the most incredible delights--little commoner's candies and instant ( Read more... )

Well, I think that a place called the Lion's Club was looking for good looking male waiters to serve there. You seem the part.

[She smiles brightly]

The Lion's Club! [gets out some paper and a pen and scribbles that down] Ah, how sweet of you to say!

But--pardon me! Before we continue any more in this conversation, will you first do me the honor--no, the privilege!--of the knowledge of your name? I am ashamed that someone of your beauty has escaped my notice for so long! I mean, I suppose that I have only been here since Friday... But the fact remains: I must know your name, my lady!

[She hides a giggle behind one hand. He talks like Sanji...and almost looks like him too.]

My name is Tifa, it's a pleasure to meet you.

Tifa! A name of surpassing loveliness, matched only by the beauty of your countenance and the sheer music of your voice! Would that I could look upon you forever! I am Suou Tamaki, but you must call me Tamaki, I insist upon it!

Tell me, Miss Tifa, are you always this kind to strangers? Or am I a special case? [smile smile wink]

I need to get a job too. Something that's not... boring.

YES! Exactly! Something that isn't "boring"! I prefer adventure and--well, not too much adveture. Exactly the right amount of adventure. And the chance for danger, but not too much danger. Maybe medium danger.

Ah, but--you are new here too, yes?

If you're going for adventure and danger, you've got to be willing to go all the way for it, or stick to something cozy

I got here the other day, and....yeah, some munny for food sure would be nice.

Not necessarily, ahaha! There are some types of job that have just a little adventure to them--like, oh, I don't know, the person who drives the Jeep when you're going on a Safari! Or maybe a rock climbing instructor!

Then do you have any ideas for jobs for yourself?

[He chuckles, briefly.]

I'm not surprised. No one has real money here. But I don't think you can get a job being a prince here.

Yes, but you would think that my credit cards would still work! I mean, they work anywhere, don't they? I have been abroad numerous times, and they have never failed me--and if they do, it only takes a single phone call to repair them!

Er, well, of course not! Being a prince is not a "job", it is a duty! A birth right! Or, in my case, being president of a fantastically brilliant club! But surely there are princely type jobs here, yes?

walkthedawn March 17 2010, 20:19:20 UTC
I'm guessing this place is just special that way. You can't make that phone call, can you?

...Uh-huh. Maybe you could work at some high-end club, if they have one here. Maybe you could be a greeter.

daddydaioh March 17 2010, 20:25:30 UTC
No! That's another thing that I must bring up with whoever is in charge of this place! I cannot even call any of my friends to let them know that I am tragically trapped in Canada, never mind call the credit card companies to get my cards reactivated. It's really very inconvenient, don't you think?

Yes, other people have been suggesting that too. Being a waiter seems a popular option, but I do not know how I feel about that! A greeter though, eh? That's a possibility...

Er, I do not believe we've met, by the way--I am Suou Tamaki--just Tamaki will be fine--and you are--?

You could be a greeter.

A greeter. You mean, like a maître d'? Or--ah, do you mean the people that find you at that, er, baseball field?

The ones at the baseball field. You could make great first impressions then, couldn't you?

Finding a job and paying rent is so troublesome... I very nearly joined the local temple here, but when they hear I'm a priest, they want to me to give lectures and I hate that. [ laugh ]

Ah, but it is also interesting and exciting, isn't it? Going it on your own! The world at your feet! Yes! I have never had to pay rent or find a job before! So far, I am really enjoying both things.

...Lectures? Lectures in what?

You enjoy hard work? Ah, you'll go far in life.

Well, I suppose people consider me qualified to speak on a number of topics, even if all I'm really good at is folding paper airplanes.

I enjoy being busy, certainly! I can't say that I like work--who does, ahaha! But it is a nice change of pace, yes? Very interesting! The commoner's life is full of trial and tribulation, but that only means that success is doubly satisfying.

Paper airplanes? How--interesting! Where did you acquire that skill? I cannot say that I am equally gifted in this area, but I admire anyone who is good at folding paper in such a fashion!
