As of last night, we've been receiving reports at the hospital that there are creatures- or...some kind of flying mechanisms out in the darkness which have been healing people. There are no projects on public record coming forward to claim their origin.

It will be an easier adjustment- that they've been pulling me through the wringer all these months to catch me up to speed on modern health concerns, and that I've done outstandingly, all things considered...

So it's like a promotion, in other words.

I'm okay with this, yes. I'll learn better control over cell growth, and it's a practical step-

Grant it, it feels like they're hedging me in, and I know it's in part because of the NICU incident, but-

But the hospital is a machine, right? The cogs ought to go where they're the best fit.

I have always wondered if we did have a choice in such matters. Clearly, you're not that thrilled about the promotion, did you even try to reject the offer, or you have agreed on the spot?

Why would I have done that? It's conceit on my part to think that I ought to remain in general practice, and selfish to refuse it, if they're giving me an opportunity to utilize my powers.

Dr. Pyke has been considerate with us on many occasions in the past, so...I owe him my cooperation.
