As of last night, we've been receiving reports at the hospital that there are creatures- or...some kind of flying mechanisms out in the darkness which have been healing people. There are no projects on public record coming forward to claim their origin.
Now I'll be clear- I am by no means asking anyone to take unnecessary risks upon themselves to investigate the matter. But if there are any of you who have run into anything of that nature out there, and have some information confirming this rumor, it would be much appreciated.
[There's a soft hesitation, and then there's a certain careful tone of factual reticence in his voice]
I've just had a meeting with my supervisor.
For anyone expecting to find me on night shift in the coming few weeks, I am going to be taking some time off from the clinic.... to receive specialized training toward the practical application and enhancement of ability-based treatment techniques. After that, I may be transferred to the Oncology Unit at SPGH, which is larger than Skye's...or stay here working with hematological neoplasms in Pediatrics.
[Daedalus doesn't sound particularly thrilled about this, but resigned to it dutifully, reasoning-]
If one is gifted with a particular talent that can save lives...then there's really no excuse to let it go to waste.
[Then, redoubling briskly, in efforts of almost-apology-]
Fellow Immigrants, I will of course make every effort to be available for a limited time frame in the afternoons, for general health exams, will be making rounds to check in on the status of any inpatient newcomers, and of course can continue to schedule appointments with my regulars...this...is just a focus in medicine, and not a closed door to my involvement in public health matters.
