Kurosaki Ichigo has volunteered to do that. He decided to help defend Nueva Las Noches and keeping watch outside lets him do that without breaking his word. Shirosaki Hichigo is going to spy on the shinigami meeting.

I'm having a meeting to talk about defenses of Nueva Las Noches. My goal is to keep the collateral damage to a minimum and to avoid casualties if possible. You're welcome to attend after I get everyone assembled, so that we can discus it. Ulquiorra and I will warn everyone else you will be coming and that they are to treat you as an ally.

If you must. We spoke shortly after my conversation with Re-l Mayer. He is intent on helping us even if he risks losing his standing with the Shinigami.

I know he plans to help. That's why I wanted him to come to the meeting.

Also, I intend on offering them one chance to withdraw if and when they show up here. I doubt they will take it, but I am going to record it with my NV. I want to make it obvious that everything we might do is an act of self-defense.
