[Amongst all of the somber voices on the network today, Sarina is a bit of a contrast, as her usual confused expression flashes on the video feed. Oh, she was most definitely going to be having some WORDS with Mr. Hypocrite if he came back, but by now she was almost used to people disappearing that she spoke with to be too terribly bothered by the

Moderation is the key! And anyway, that's only one day out of the year that you weren't feeling well. Wishing someone a 'Happy New Year' is wishing all three hundred and someodd days of the year to be happy.
[ And a bemused grin. Combatant Kitten. ] Unfortunately I never had a pet fish, so I can't help you there. Why not look around in the pet shop?
And Happy New Year to you too, Sarina.

That's the thing! Why would you want to spend the first day of the year sick?! It seems like a dumb way to start out a supposedly happy year, if you ask me!
Yeah, I guess I'll do that.
But uh I guess I hope you do okay with that moderate drinking thing?

Mm, well, some people take the 'celebrating' part a little too much to heart. They'll risk the hangover, the vomiting, the little pink ogres dancing in dresses afterwards. Maybe they're trying to drown last year out with more alcohol than they can tolerate. It's hard to say why some people will drink that much.
Uh -- oh I... I probably won't be drinking. I have to work... and I want to check some books out of the library.

Pink ogres? Eehee?
I don't get it! I've heard from some people that it helps them "forget" their problems...but if it makes them feel like shit and gives them more problems, why would they bother?
[She sighs, frowning.] Besides, if your problems are that bad, you're not going to be forgetting them anytime too soon.
[Oh right. Work. Like she had to do as well, in a few hours.]
You too, huh? Heehee -- which books are you getting?

[She smiles.] Oh, I don't need enjoyment, heehee -- I'm just trying to understand traditional customs here.

I have to work tonight, haha -- so I kind of have to pass on it myself. But I'd still like to hear of your customs. Other places intrigue me. [a pause.] I've been many places, but I never really got to enjoy them.

...Combatant Kitten?
[...Yyyes that is the part of all that that catches his attention.]

[Said with a cautious tone:] Yeah, eehee.
[This was bothering her. Why was his voice setting off some kind of nostalgia within?]
Did you see the ad for the kittens in the news feed the other day? It has a tendency to sometimes attack and it's a kitten, so...

Kittens, huh? Hn...
[There's a bit of a pause and a frown in his voice. Definitely not one that's heard over the network very often. He's better than he used to be, but Snake's still not all that interested in other people's lives. It's none of his business, really. But there was something about the name that caught his attention.]
Sorry. Reminded me of something.

[She still proceeded cautiously. If she was feeling some sort of nostalgia, it most likely was not a good thing.]
...eheh. What did it remind you of, if you don't mind me asking?
