Follow-Up: Tainted Sushi Reveals Deeper Menace

A blurb following up on yesterday's report about a tainted piece of sushi that caused an elderly woman to become ill. The article relates that the sushi restaurant was found to be completely free of any health code violations - in fact, the restaurant was exemplary in its cleanliness and care in preparing food. More tests were done into the batch of fish that the tainted sushi came from, however, and strange mutations to the fish's genetic structure were noted. When the elderly woman was further investigated, similar changes were noted to her mouth and digestive tract. Fortunately, the woman's ability related to quick regeneration, and she has managed to become healthy again over the course of the past two days.

Breaking News! Two workers at the sushi restaurant in question, the workers who handled the fish previously thought to be tainted, have come down with a similar illness to the woman who was served the fish. Both workers have sustained mild burns on fingers that handled the fish, and extensive bruising (with some evidence of internal bleeding) in the forearms and belly, the places closest to where the fish was.

Further investigation is being done into the source of this fish - freshwater salmon caught somewhere on the island. Authorities are currently uncertain of whether this strange ailment originates with the lake itself, or the system that processes the fish.

Rat Menace Continues

A follow-up article to the previous reports about the rat infestation in some parts of the City states that the rats that are related to this week's explosion in sector two are, in fact, toxic. There aren't many details given in the article, but it connects the dots between a recent influx of patients in clinics and hospitals and the toxic rats. It states that tests are being done and an investigation is being carried out, but so far, no hard evidence or information on the cause of the explosions or the rodent menace have been given. The article warns all citizens not to touch the rats or let them bite, and advises that if the rats are found in any citizens house, an exterminator should be hired to handle them rather than handling them privately. The article closes off with an admonition to thoroughly wash anything these toxic rats touch.

In the Afterglow of Commotion

An article giving a small report on a commotion outside of the Afterglow xXx Club on the evening of February 3 - it mentions that there was some sort of fight involving abilities, perhaps magic. There were reports of fireballs, electrical flashes, and excessive wind in the area. The fight drew a rather large crowd, it seems, but the report doesn't mention how many people were involved or if anyone was hurt or not. No major property damage was done, but the manager of Afterglow xXx Club appreciated the publicity and reported an upswing in business for the night. He declined any statements on negative impacts this fight may have had, but was seen leading several people inside the club and ordering guards to keep an eye on the entrance.
