1. [voice; backdated to 11:00pm on the 6th] Truths Eclipsed by a Tumultous Sky

Ah, hello. I suppose I'm new. I can't say this is very... um... convenient -- to be brought here, I mean -- but there are upsides. It may seem silly, but if you look out the window....

There is a moon. Sure, it's hard to see, but it's really there. It's also a little, ah, creepy out there right now, granted, but... at least the stars are also there ( Read more... )

You ... don't have a sky in your world?

[ This is horrid. She'd always loved seeing the stars at night. ]

My home has a sky, but, it doesn't have a lot of the things that this place does. I ...kind of prefer it that way, to be honest.

Are there that many bad things here...?

Well... I wouldn't say they were all bad. You have to be careful about the companies, AGI and SERO; and there's the darkness monsters.

Other than that, and the occasional lunatic, it's ...actually not that bad. It's not like home, but I've been here for a year already. I'm trying to stay positive.

[ Which ain't easy when your stepsister kept killing your free will. :I ]

My name is Ella, by the way. Ella of Frell. You must have just been pulled in by the Core, huh?

Yes, I'm Li. It's nice to meet you!

Ah, it's always easier to roll with the punches, right? ...how long do people... usually stay here, though?

Yes Many Things
But This Is A Primarily Human City So I Guess That Was To Be Expected

What kinds of, um... beings is your home composed of, then?

The Dominant Race Of Which I Am A Member Are Trolls
But Its More Complicated And Diverse Than That
There Are Our Custodians
Our Lusii Who Look After Us Which Come In Many Different Forms
Although Quite How Many I Dont Believe Anybody Knows
Since You Are Unlikely To Meet Anyone Who Has The Same Kind Of Lusus As You For A Significant Period Of Your Lifespan
Sometimes Never
We Also Have Multitudes Of The Undead Who Emerge During The Day To Forage For Living Prey
And Ordinary Beasts As Well Who Are Somewhat Less Dangerous But Still Should Be Treated With Caution
Including A Small Population Of Creatures Like Humans Although I Have Learned Humans Are Not Hermophroditic In The Same Way So Er Perhaps Not Quite So Similar

[That is... a lot to take in. BRB give him a sec...]

So... ah... this must be quite an adjustment, then.

No sky? Seriously?

I... suppose that's a dramatic way of putting it.

But the real celestial bodies disappeared from view around ten years ago. On my Earth, I mean.

[ there's a moment's pause, and yukari tries to make sense of this. he did say "disappeared from view"... ]

So, what, like they were covered in smog or something?

It's... ah, it's hard to tell. There are fake stars in the sky, but they don't behave like real stars should. So... covered by something, but I don't think anyone knows what it is.

Relics. This world is filled with relics from a time long since passed, that are not present when and where I come from.

My friends would be enamored with this place.

Ah... do you have any examples? Of a "relic", I mean.

The vehicles and the form of fuel that they use, weapons, and the baseball diamond. My records indicate that humans have not played the sport of baseball since Lost Jerusalem was abandoned. I have also noted that several people use a primitive form of communicator instead of a Connection Gear.

[A short pause as he considers this.]

...you must be from a future... ah, futuristic place, then. How interesting.

Does Lost Jerusalem have any connection to the Earth city, or...?

I've never lived under open skies, before this world. Romdeau was a domed city.

...I see. What was the dome for?

Re: [voice] gaveherwings January 7 2012, 22:17:03 UTC
To sustain life-systems. Ecologically speaking, the world outside was otherwise uninhabitable, dead.

It seems like this one becomes pretty uninhabitable after dark, too.

Did anyone ever go outside the dome?
