Ah, hello. I suppose I'm new. I can't say this is very... um... convenient -- to be brought here, I mean -- but there are upsides. It may seem silly, but if you look out the window....

There is a moon. Sure, it's hard to see, but it's really there. It's also a little, ah, creepy out there right now, granted, but... at least the stars are also there ( Read more... )

Relics. This world is filled with relics from a time long since passed, that are not present when and where I come from.

My friends would be enamored with this place.

Ah... do you have any examples? Of a "relic", I mean.

The vehicles and the form of fuel that they use, weapons, and the baseball diamond. My records indicate that humans have not played the sport of baseball since Lost Jerusalem was abandoned. I have also noted that several people use a primitive form of communicator instead of a Connection Gear.

[A short pause as he considers this.]

...you must be from a future... ah, futuristic place, then. How interesting.

Does Lost Jerusalem have any connection to the Earth city, or...?

I am. The time here is still recorded in A.D. rather than T.C. as I have discovered.

I believe it does however records regarding Lost Jerusalem were sealed shortly after abandonment. I only have records still within Vector's database, regarding the discovery of the Zohar.

That's amazing! My own home is similar to this one, at least technologically. What does T.C. stand for?

Then it must be something of a comfort to have such familiarity around you.

It is the acronym for Transcend Christ.

Well... in the sense that it could be more alien, I suppose, yes.

...I suppose it would be bothersome to ask what that stands for.

Not bothersome. It is "After Christ" according to my records. The system is not documented in depth within my database since it is common knowledge where I come from.

Ah... I hope -- this doesn't sound rude, but... You have access to a database but not to common knowledge?

I have a fair amount of common knowledge but the date was never relevant to my primary objectives and so I paid no attention.

Ah, I see! That makes sense.

Are you the only person here from your own time, or are there others?

I am alone.

[She's still a little sad about that but he shouldn't be able to hear it in her voice unless he's listening closely.]

[If he was actively trying to read her, he might have noticed -- but there is no reason for that.

Besides, her words hit home about his own predicament.]

So am I, it seems.

Maybe it only pulls one person from each, ah-- place?

It is not entirely improbable. I theorize that there is a 67.329% chance of that being the case however I do not have enough information yet regarding other Newcomers.

It seems like a useful thing to know.

...does that mean you are relatively new, as well?
