Now that most of the holidays have passed - and we have one asshole behind bars - I want to discuss with the network at large the idea of using the Newcomer Community Center more often. I don't see much traffic there, which is fine, but I think we can put it to good use in the coming year. Call it a resolution, I guess ( Read more... )

No wonder your cat was so friendly the other day. [ John seems a little amused. ]

And that's a good idea about the classes.

I guess, yeah. I think he just wanted to bother Sherlock.

[There's a smile in her voice.]

Thanks. I hope people will be willing to go to a few of them as well as teach.

That's dangerous.

Well.. if there are any teaching spots, I'd be happy to pass along a few skills.

Messing with Sherlock? Hardly.

There are plenty of spots. Do you have any particular subject in mind?

[And a good morning and fuck you too, Bigby.]

I'm not a grandmother. She's not mine. The father is.

First aid and CPR, I'd be happy to set up.

Four kittens! I think it's time to look into some population control for Ergo.

I've seen the news this morning.

Things down at the station are tense and worrisome, I assume. It's good to be turning your attentions to other projects, for right now. Until there's a clearer idea of what's going on. That man- he was your supervisor, yes?

I'll pencil you in.

[And to that second part, all he'll hear is a sharp hiss in the background.]

It's a mess, but I'll just have to deal with it, as always. I'm not doing this project because of the news, mind you.

And yes, he was.

Good. You know my hours.

Yes, but it's not a bad idea to keep your head down and out of it, until more information comes through.

You believe someone has a vendetta?

I do. Thanks.

I don't know if I'll be capable of doing that at the rate things are going. I can try...but I don't think it will do much good.

Yeah, I do. Someone's weeding out the problems.

I know a great deal of things and tutor on a variety of subjects at SPU, with a focus on biology, anthropology, and physics. I also at times teach braille. I am uncertain if any of these subjects fit the more general nature of the classes you suggested, but am willing to help anywhere an extra person is needed.

Braille's something good to learn, but I'm definitely open to the idea of the NCC being open for tutoring and extra-curricular help.

In spite of it being an excellent code and easy to learn, most sadly do not find the use of braille to be important or applicable.

Perhaps I could host a study hour or something like that, a few nights a week?

That's a shame. I wouldn't mind learning it.

[She makes a noise of agreement.]

That's perfect.

What's First Aid and CPR?

proxysearch December 28 2011, 23:20:07 UTC
[...Way to prove her point.]

CPR is a procedure you perform on someone when they stop breathing or can't breathe on their own. First Aid is a set of procedures you do when someone's been hurt.

Healing arts? You ought to just state that outright, miss, save on confusion.

Though, are you sure these are magics everyone is capable of learning?

It's not magic. It's something anyone can do, specifically those without powers.
