Now that most of the holidays have passed - and we have one asshole behind bars - I want to discuss with the network at large the idea of using the Newcomer Community Center more often. I don't see much traffic there, which is fine, but I think we can put it to good use in the coming year. Call it a resolution, I guess

What's First Aid and CPR?

CPR is a procedure you perform on someone when they stop breathing or can't breathe on their own. First Aid is a set of procedures you do when someone's been hurt.

Healing arts? You ought to just state that outright, miss, save on confusion.

Though, are you sure these are magics everyone is capable of learning?

It's not magic. It's something anyone can do, specifically those without powers.

[A little disbelieving] How does it work? If everyone can do it, I imagine there are limitations, especially if the lungs are exploded. Or-or next to the person.

This is basically how CPR works. Obviously, you'd need practice and to know all of the procedures, and how to make sure you won't be liable if something were to happen, but that's...basically it in a nutshell.

We wouldn't teach it if it doesn't, even if it looks strange.

More than strange. And assuming everyone is physiologically laid out the same. Or that they don't breathe fire.

It's still an attempt. And even that should be enough to save someone's life until the ambulance gets there.

We already have a few volunteers to take it, so it'll be one of the first classes we introduce to the center.

And future classes? Will there be less dire ones and more interesting ones? Not that human CPR is not interesting, of course. It might be useful one day.

Hopefully. Someone is looking to teach music, and we have a volunteer for survival skills and another for art.

[Gods don't need CPR, after all. He's fairly certain he doesn't even have lungs, himself.]

Still boring. What about weapons? Or grappling? Oh! Or sparring!

There will be self-defense classes and possibly a class about controlling and adapting to new powers, but no, no weapons classes at this time.
