[She sounds quite level.]So I've been asking around about that new game that debuted that makes people forget who they are and sticks them someplace new. You all know what I'm talking about? The horror game ( Read more... )

I wish these games didn't exist.

It's bad for your peace of mind, yeah.

But on the other hand, it's important to think about the possibilities.

I wonder why it doesn't occur to more people...

I'm not sure I like the idea that we're in some kind of game. [ Though that's probably the point of it. ]

Well, neither do I...

Do you think it's possible, though?

Why wouldn't it be? It's a bad road to go down, I think - but if it's possible to make a bunch of people think they're in a haunted house overnight, or put them in a space ship, and forget who they really are, why wouldn't it be possible?

Do you seriously want a skeleton dog? Sounds kinda creepy, if you ask me.

You know... I like dogs, and it would probably be a lot easier to keep than a regular dog.

Wouldn't it smell?

I don't think there's much meat on it?

[Maybe most eleven-year-olds shouldn't be able to follow that logic. But since when is Gohan like most eleven-year-olds? The idea about the different flows of time pings him as it is.]

So you think we might all just be plugged into some game?

Kind of? It's a possibility, not something I'd put out there for sure. But the Core can manipulate memories, and... I mean, if they have games like that here already...

[It really is a creepy idea, now that he thinks about it.] I wonder what the point of that would be.

I wonder too.

There's nothing to confirm it for real either way, I guess... I just wonder.

You find the Core having a sense of time to be a more preposterous theory than that?

[Either can be proven and disproven, but he feels like trolling.]

If we're assuming the reality of the Core, I would just find it unleashing holiday shenanigans to be somewhat trivial.

Those would hardly be the only ramifications of a built in calendar system.

I suppose so, but maybe it could pass up on zombie hoards then.
