[The recording starts with a breath, saturated with relief, before a calm voice filters through.]

Ah. It is, indeed, a relief to know that the distress has passed and those stream of nightmares have finally ended.

[And they have been, for quite a few days.  She only announces it for those still ignorant -- however few there were, by now.]

I know I'm glad they're over with. [ It had been really, really unpleasant to be exposed to someone else's bad memories, that was for sure. She huffs a sigh. ]

I've already picked out a costume! I guess I'll be spending Halloween in the Underground Mall, though-- I mean, the Darkness isn't exactly a great time to trick or treat in, right? [ The memory's enough to make her shiver. ]

[ Ah, if it wasn't Miss Clover. Given that sigh and the girl's response, Caster can't help but speak in a kinder voice. ]

Well, Mr. Lunettes is having a semi-masquerade on Halloween. Oh, and the Newcomer Community Center is hosting a pumpkin carving event, and they'll be have a sleepover directly afterwards. If you'd like, I can take you to one of them or even both. And if we end up having to walk out in the Darkness, I'll protect you, so you won't have anything to worry about.

A masquerade sounds like it might be fun! ... I dunno if I want to do the pumpkin carving, though. It sounds kinda messy.

[ She does perk up a little at the mention of being able to walk around in the Darkness, though. ] Do you have a costume yet?

Not quite. I was thinking of only partially dressing up, by adding something small like a feather or a mask, but I'm still not decided yet.

Have you been looking forward to Halloween?

[ A soft chuckle at that, followed by a yawn. ]

You can say that again. [ She thought she was done with the nightmares - and she slept little enough as it was. ]

It's sweet of you to offer to be someone to confide in for people though, Caster. [ And then a heavier pause. ]

Oh bless it, I knew there was something I forgot. [ Well the indoor garden was almost done at least. ] I'm not planning on dressing up myself. Are you?

[ She smiles softly. ]

Have you still not had the time to rest up fully?

Oh, but yes, I was planning on partly dressing up. I was just thinking of adding something small, like a mask or a feather.

But are you sure that you don't want to take advantage of the occasion to dress up in something nice? There was actually a costume I passed by the other day that I thought would look lovely on you.

[ Like that pretty white gown. ]

I get the majority of my rest on the weekends. [ But she's been debating whether or not to quit one of her jobs. If she can just get Hattie to get off her butt and work ... ]

You could always combine the two and wear a feathered mask. [ Helpful! She blinks in surprise at the latter comment though. ]

Oh -- really? What was it?

[ Fihfh;a that needs to be done :D ]

Because you have those two jobs on the weekdays, right? [ Then, a bit curiously: ] How many hours do you usually have left for rest?

Oh, that isn't a bad idea, actually. I appreciate the suggestion. I will certainly consider it.

As for what it was... [ Another smile as she reconsiders telling her forthright. ] If you're not busy tomorrow, how about I show you in person?

Checking up on all of us, Caster?

[He cants his head, looking much better after having had real sleep.]

[She smiles, the sound of it warming her voice.]

Indeed. It was a harrowing time, but many has avoided making any mention of it. Perhaps it has become nothing more than a page of a story that has already passed, but I fear that some are simply sealing it away inside their heart. Bottling up these things will only spell disaster in the end. One can only subdue it for so long.

I should hope that my concerns aren't troubling to you.

My concern in all of this is; why did the lighthouse choose to contact us, to make us share our dreams with one another? Or perhaps I should ask "what comes next"? Rarely does something like this come and go without lasting repercussion, even taking our traumatic memories aside.

Your thoughts never trouble me, you know.

ooh, welcome back ♥ boundbytreason November 2 2011, 04:44:13 UTC
Is that so? Then I am glad to hear it.

Concerning the lighthouse, it really is quite a mystery. I can't see how we'll ever manage to learn more. I hear that some people have gone to the lighthouse, but...I don't know if any of their findings have ever reached fruition.

Thank god the dreams are over. Like Halloween isn't scary enough.

You would almost think that the city was celebrating Halloween in its own twisted way. [A smile, as her voice softens:] Would you say that you have had enough of frightening things for a little while?

I'm not a big fan of scary things, so yeah. I've definitely had enough.

[ A soft chuckle. ]

Oh, not at all. I'm really not providing very much. Speaking to someone about it can only help so far, but in the end, the person will have to work through their problems themselves. Sometimes, the answer is simply having the patience to endure the passing of time. And as they say, time heals all wounds.

I don't know if I would say time heals all wounds. I think that's a myth.

Some have given an alternative interpretation, substituting 'time' with 'love'. Would you consider that any closer to the truth?
