[The recording starts with a breath, saturated with relief, before a calm voice filters through.]

Ah. It is, indeed, a relief to know that the distress has passed and those stream of nightmares have finally ended.

[And they have been, for quite a few days.  She only announces it for those still ignorant -- however few there were, by now.]

Interesting... Weren't you telling me to be wary of strangers, huh?

Indeed. But there is no harm in speaking with them over the NV. Besides, even were it in person...I still take all the proper precautions. But when it comes to you, I'm worried that your safety measures are rather...tentative.

Oh, really? Well, what precautions do you suggest, Miss Safety Guard?

Oh, Miss Suzumiya. You should know by now that I don't like answering such important questions over the network.

[Frau originally had been intending on turning the NV off after your "advice" lecture. He knows what it's like to feel those secrets eating you up from the inside. Of course, he has no intention of sharing them anyway. Sharing or not he would still end up being destroyed from the inside out, so why put it on someone else too? He didn't want to hear about it how he should.

The sudden lighter note in her voice stayed his hand though.]

Dress up for what?

Oh, Halloween. It's another holiday, also known as a festival of the dead. Oftentimes, it's celebrated by dressing up in a costume. There are usually other activities that tend to accompany the occasion, but how much more would you like to hear about it?

Festival of the dead?

[That makes him a little uneasy and slightly amused all at the same time. It's almost like the festival he has at home, only it's not about costumes or pumpkins or whatever else.]

That's right. A holiday to honor those who have died. But it's not quite as chilling as it might sound. While it is a day where people enjoy engaging in horror-themed activities, there are also tamer, more harmless things to participate in, like carving faces into pumpkins.

[ While unseen on his end, a wry smile quirks her lips then. For someone who hasn't heard about Halloween, she wonders whether carving pumpkins would sound ridiculous. ]

What sort of preparations should we be making, really? I've never been susceptible to cold, before.

Oh, you haven't? Normally, warmer clothing would suffice but...is the temperature really not an issue for you?

Warmer clothing. Through layers or fabric, then? And temperature is hardly an issue for a ship, don't you agree?

[ A soft chuckle. The answer was unexpected, but she takes it in stride. ]

Yes, I really must imagine that it must be a moot point for a ship. This is the first time that I'm speaking with one, though. But if you're asking about what I mean by preparations for the cold...does that mean you seek to understand how the human society works?

In which case, increased layers of fabric is indeed what I meant. I would advise having warmer meals as well, but I suppose that wouldn't apply to you either?
