[The screen flickers on to reveal the face of a friendly old man. He seems to be relatively calm about everything all things considered. He had informed himself as best as possible by asking questions of the greeter, but it seemed to him that asking a wider audience would be beneficial. Strangers were generally such interesting people to meet. He ( Read more... )

There is a very nice tea shop in sector 5 at [address]. They have over seventy different flavours, so I am sure you will find something you like there.

Thank you miss, I have a feeling that you are a fellow lover of tea. [He gave her a smile as well and an inquisitive eyebrow raise. She appeared to have some sort of tribal markings, with a skull adorning her and the green hair. She must have a very interesting life story]

Tea is my favourite beverage. Followed by milkshakes.

Tea is also my favourite drink! [Big smile at that]

... what precisely is a milkshake?

Welcome to the port. I'm Reim Lunettes.

[He bows politely towards the screen.]

It's nice to see a calm face among newcomers. People that usually first arrive in the port are usually panicked, though that's to be expected.

The main advice I can give is not to go outside at night.

[He returns the bow as is proper]

Ah, it is nice to meet you Reim Lunettes. What an interesting name you have.

[He pauses and considers this]

Ah, well life has a way of doing unexpected things. Any problems are better dealt with a cool and calm head. [He nods his head in agreement] It is difficult to be taken from your home, but I don't feel I have any pressing matters to take care of.

[He would still like to be closer to his family and friends, but the world was in his nephew's and the avatar's hands, he was sure they would bring balance back]

Avoid going outside at night is it? Yes that was mentioned to me when I first arrived, though it is always nice to have important knowledge repeated.

[Reim nods a bit.]

Yes, I've been told that before.

I see. It's great that people have that state of mind. I'm afraid I wasn't that calm when I got here. Actually, I was far from calm when I got here. But that's hardly the point now.

It's very important know. I'm glad people are nice enough to tell others that.

[He nods in understanding] Many people find it difficult to transition to new things, it is human nature to prefer the comfortable. It is only through experiencing these transitions that one can become a more complete person.

[He smiles pleasantly]

Yes, it is nice to see people showing kindness towards strangers. It is a true test of an individual to be kind to those they have no attachment to. I have received this many times over the years, it is one of the wonderful things about life.

Advice? Uh... Don't go out after sirens unless you can hold your own overnight, I guess. Creepy monsters and stuff.

Yes, that has been mentioned to me before, it seems as though it is dangerous. I appreciate the concern over a simple old man. What do these creepy monsters look like?

They depend, really. Most of 'em are like... Blobby. At least the ones I've seen. There was this one I saw once too that had some kind of rusty stuff coming out of its mouth but I didn't stick around to see what it was up close, y'know?

Blobby is it? I shall make sure to avoid going out at night if possible then. It is good to have some idea what you are facing, it makes them more managable. Might I have your name, sir?

Welcome to Siren's Port. I'm sure you could find a few good tea shops around here without too much trouble, the city's a pretty big place.

It isn't really so bad here, even if it gets kind of chaotic. A-at least, it's not bad before dark. Things kind of get a little crazy then.

The city is made by the people in it, these things are true wherever you go. There is always going to be a certain rhythm and feel to any city. It seems this one is made from people who are far different from one another, but that is common enough. [He strokes his beard thoughtfully. Cities all had certain similarities, the chaos of this city might rival that of Ba Sing Se]

Ah, you refer to the monsters and the darkness that plague the city at night? I have yet to experience them myself, but I have been told they are blobby, and some take different shapes.
