algernon-mouse emailed a rough couple of paragraphs to me about Jepha getting pegged for the first time, and I wrote her back the first draft of this. She and secrethappiness liked it, so I decided to turn it into something longer. helluvalot did a first round beta, and secrethappiness brought it home. Any remaining mistakes are mine

Quinn's fucking reaction... is made of awesome. And just yeah, I loved how human you made Jeph in this... a lot of het I read the guys are not well rounded characters... but you're an awesome writer so I knew you'd do it well.

It's just beyond my fangirlling of you to go on about how much I love it when authors, such as yourself, can take something that can be read as 'just porn' and give it such an emotional edge that it's more than just the smut by the end of it.

If everything I read online was as good as this... I'd never buy another book again. Haha!

I don't know why, but for some reason I had the cover of the first Alexisonfire album in my head while reading this.

It's really cool to see Jepha a little shy and unsure, learning and finding out about himself, because you don't tend to see that. He's always so comfortable in his illuminated skin and with his kink, and this really reads like a glimpse into the very beginning of all that, when he was still working out exactly what pushes his buttons. Especially here, "He wants her to call him pretty, to look at him and want him, to slap his ass and laugh at him. He doesn't know how to ask for it."

The little details in this were what got me: things like how it takes her a long time to come sometimes and sometimes not at all, the way they go way out of town and sit in the car beforehand, those interminable phonecalls at the end. It made it really, uh, real and genuine feeling. Like a memory.

It is entirely possible that I'm always thinking of Jepha in a uniform skirt when I write him. Maybe. Totally. :/

Mouse was a really good influence on me with that; I have a tendency, I think, to write characters that are really comfortable, without going through that nervousness that comes naturally to figuring out your kinks. I have a lot of memories based on figuring that shit out, though, is what I'm saying, so there's a lot of territory to mine in terms of writing being embarrassed and weirded out and all that.

Holy shit, I loved this. I always really like the way you write people figuring out what they're into- it feels like a fresh and realistic take on a subject that can be kind of trite.
