[This network post is very different from his last. It opens with Hardison, looking a little less pimp, just sort of staring at the camera.]

Man, seriously? Seriously?

Anyone know how long this computer hold grudges? Because, not gonna lie, this is getting straight up ridiculous.

Hehe, you really got that computer steamed, huh? Do you need some food?

Yeah, apparently it actually checks the active account codes for fraud, despite the monetary system being completely in the tank due to low population.

[He pauses.]

I ain't bad, somethin' that doesn't grow off trees in the garden zone would be nice, though.

Sheesh, how unreasonable! [she laughs] Hypatia is kind of grumpy like that though, she gets so mad sometimes! Just wait until someone blows something up!

Do you like fish?

[Oh hey...that's actually a good point.]

Uh yeah, actually.

People blow stuff up often?

Hardison?

What happened?

...Why aren't you in your apartment?

Account mismanagement. I got blown and locked out. Couldn't crack back into that place with Eliot and a sledgehammer.

...You got caught?

Why'd you go and get caught?

Hey! The odds of a computer running a transaction fraud check on a specific account number with less than a 20:1 ratio of credits to users, at less than 1% nominal population is astronomical!

[Wait, Parker logic....]

That's like someone accidentally flagging the dollar in your wallet as being stolen and pegging you for the hundred mil you have in the car, even though the dollar wasn't your heist!

No doubt Hypatia is very bored.

Have you considered donating blood? It is a simple way to earn a legitimate credit.

[Ohay there paladin bro. How's it hangin.]

And let a pissed off computer anywhere near me with a needle? Thanks but no thanks, man.

[Delta is not sure that question has any logical answer, for one who does not possess physical anatomy.]

Understood. There are extensive cavern systems in Garden Zone 11, if you are willing to "rough it"; otherwise, it is likely you can find lodging with others.

I would offer to share my own abode, but I do not think it is classified as "safe" for those without armor.

It's cool dude, I'd hate to crash with a guy I know from the internet.

I'll deal.

But why's your pad so rough? Piss off some raiding parties?

[Sam totally isn't laughing at you, Hardison. Nope. Not him. That would be immature.]

I think she can hold a grudge forever, man.

Could always try getting someone who still has access to the barracks to open the door for you--or a window, if you're really desperate.

[Yeah, yeah, this is hilarious. He knows.]

Hey man, if it gets me out of range of a animal dude with a sword, I'll take it.

[It's all fun and games till someone gets hit with sharp shit.]

Least it keeps me off the radar until I can map the locking protocol.

[Hoo boy, do not talk to Sam about fun and games + sharp things. Identity discs hurt.]

Yeah? You get any kind of read on it yet, or is that gonna have to wait until you get inside somewhere?

Man, I been workin on that since I got here. If it weren't for the fact that hacking credits was easier, I'd probably be done already.

[Hardison's voice takes on that sort of funfact tone.]

You know the locking protocols have six different layers of coding that intermingle depending on a damn excel spreadsheet of variable data? It's nuts, man.

If I manage to get set up indoors, first thing I'm hacking is the locking protocols. After that, tapping into security for an eye on this place will be a cakewalk.

[Hardison is actually pretty impressed by this recommendation. If he were anyone else, that would have been damn useful. He throws up a quick encryption because, damn, he doesn't want that dude just stumbling into this.]

Might be a good plan to keep an eye on the door protocols. If he passes too close to any automated entries in this place, he might trip it. Give a good idea where everyone is, even if it's nonspecific as to who.

Keep the cameras pointed at somethin' that matters, ya know?

[My man. Hardison doesn't reply for a while as he ducks inside the barracks and out of the elements.]

I owe you a solid.

Got a handle?
