Great fiery fingers of Hell!

[Lorne's voice is jumping octaves at a time.]

What--what is this?! Why can't I see?! Are my... are my eyes still here, even?

[There's a pause as his hands shoot up to feel for them.]

Alright... still in their sockets, so I know some crazy witch hasn't taken them... like I haven't dealt with that a time or two before. Pfft ( Read more... )

Ah, just a little miffed I guess. I mean, I've had worse. And I know people who've had lots worse.

Going blind isn't generally something I'm awfully appreciative of, though.

Hey, Lorne, I-I'll--I'll help you.

[He hopes he won't get punished for extending kindness to the currently punished...but it's just not in his nature to ignore a friend's plight. Lorne's only been nice to him since he showed up. He'd be a terrible nephew friend if he didn't try to help.]

Thanks, kiddo. I may need it if I'm going to get that sea breeze.

Geez, and I'm not supposed to start losing my eyesight until I hit 280.

Wow, 280. That--that's pretty cool.

I, uhm, I-I'm sorry. I have to--to find Lily first, but--b-but then I'll come help you. Promise.

Ah, that was just an exaggeration, kiddo.

But thanks, I could use the help getting down to the bar. Take care of the girl first.

Sounds like you've been through some shit. [He tries to keep his tone light... but even laid-back Keats is just a little bothered by all this chaos.]

I wouldn't mind bringing you a drink or something.

I've just had my fair share of apocalypse scares is all. Never been blind, though, and its honestly something I didn't plan on, either.

That would be helpful, kid, thanks. You know how to make a sea breeze?

Apocalypse scares, huh? Sounds familiar. Most of the crazy stuff around here is pretty tame in comparison.

That's vodka-cranberry stuff, right? I'm not a bartender or anything, but I could give it a shot.

[he heard that]

...If you need anything, just ask. I'll do what I can for you.

Ahh, thanks Donniecakes, but don't worry yourself.

Listen, what I just said about helping people out--I don't know where that came from. Don't take it to mean anything, 'kay?

But, hey, here I go talking about myself more again; are you doing alright? It's sounding like everyone involved got the whip somehow or another.

["Mean" doesn't mean something's not true, but he's leaving that alone for now.]

You too, hah? Do you want some help getting to the bar, Lorne?

Wow, all you whippersnappers are just coming to my rescue! You kids sure are sweet, aren't you? Helping out a poor, decrepit, blind old man like me.

Just kidding. I would not have this wonderful a complexion if I was as old as I'm acting like.

Well, I think I've got lots of help on its way already, to be honest, Mutsumi, but thanks for the offer anyway. You didn't get yourself wrapped up in the mutiny, too, did you?

It's no problem helping out a friend, you know? And you didn't sound too happy.

The mutiny...?

[He may not know what that word means, but it's not hard to get the rest of it.]

No, I stayed out of it. It's kind of a relief, the captain didn't seem very happy. What happened, anyway?
