Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I enjoyed it, though the plot was a little silly. And by "a little" I mean "a lot." Oh well. The fangirls sitting down the row were clearly having ALL THE FEELS when ( spoilery things happened. )

Wait, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch? Weird. Maybe that means... they'll be in an Avengers movie, I guess? I don't understand how the rights thing works.

Well, you missed a scene of Bucky reading his own biography at the Captain America exhibit.

Yep, they've been confirmed AoU characters for a bit. They're going for a different backstory because they can use them so long as they don't mention "mutants" or Magneto. Honestly that mid-credits scene pisses me off because it kind of points to Wanda being yet another mentally-unstable brunette in the Whedon stable. He's really fond of those and generally crappy representations of mental ill-health. Wanda deserves better than that.

The HYDRA person is Baron von Strucker, who sets up Avengers 2 along with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch [who apparently won't be cited as "mutants" in Avengers 2 because of the studio limbo?].

Steve's list is different around the world. I hope people will post screen caps when the DVD is released. We got Shakira, the Chilean miners' rescue and something else I can't remember (missed that scene second time I watched the movie and the first time I was flailing too much to remember). I thought it was cute nod to international audiences, even if I find it somewhat implausible that Steve would be interested on catching up with that much worldwide pop culture. On the other hand, everyone should have a hobby ( ... )

Hey, Shakira is better than disco, which is what we got. Googling around reveals that the UK ones at least got voted on by the fans. I now really want to see the fic that explains Steve's worldwide pop culture obsession.

I hope they do make that Black Widow movie. It will be amaaaaazing.

I'm glad you liked the movie! I've been seeing you post about it on tumblr for months and months and I was like, oh, man, I really hope you like it.

I voted in that UK list (Father Ted), though at the time I thought it was to add items to a unified list. There was no mention, let alone links, to similar polls elsewhere. Didn't find out about the Latin one until it was too late (not that I could have participated as it seemed to require a Facebook account). I've heard fan speculation about local SHIELD agents from different stations preparing these lists for Steve and I can't help but think of Steve reading up when he can't fall asleep or feels even more isolated than usual ( ... )

The Air & Space Museum does some pop culture exhibits with nebulous ties to air and space. I saw an amazing Star Wars exhibit there in 1998.
