I've been reading a lot more SF and YA SF! I love the genre, so it's no surprise to me. What is a surprise is how much I've been digging into so far this year. :)

I've really enjoyed a few books this year:

The 13 Curses by Michelle Harrison (can't wait for the next!)
Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire
The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary Pearson
Fool by Christopher Moore

and I'm currently in love with John Scalzi's Zoe's Tale. :)

A bit of SF is always fun, I have just been reading the manuscript of Kevin J. Anderson's new SF series, HELLHOLE - top stuff!! We will hopefully be publishing this year!

I've finally started read the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson. Just amazing!

Also, agree the year seems to be flying by!

I'm still trying to get into that trilogy... everyone says it's amazing and that you just have to get through the first 40 or so pages of the first one and then you'll be addicted... my problem is I can't get past the corporate jargon at the beginning!

I've just recently been getting into memoirs- I finished Chinese Cinderella, by Adeline Yen Mah the other day and now I'm halfway through Survival in Auschwitz by Primo Levi. Other than that, been (re)reading some of the good old classics- the Once and Future King, Sense and Sensibility, Jane Eyre...

I did read Philippa Gregory's The Other Queen, but I didn't like it so much. Since doing The White Queen review last summer, I've read at least 5 of her other books, and this is the only one I didn't love. Is it true that Gregory's The Red Queen is coming out this summer? I can't remember where I heard it, but I got quite excited. Shall she be tweeting the story again?

Right now I am reading SHADOW PROWLER and it's fantastic so far (I'm about 2/3 of the way through). It's rare to see first person in epic fantasy (rather than urban or young adult fantasy etc.) so I love it when it pops up and is done well. And boy is this done well - for me, first works best when the character is, well, quite a character. And Harold is clever and snarky and thus wonderful to read. :)

I'm still sticking to my favourite parts of the book world, although lately I've been hungering for more witch/ghost fiction when it comes to my paranormal reading, so I've been indulging in a bit more of that lately.

Have you heard of and/or read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" by Seth Grahame-Smith?

I'm reading it right now and loving it so far. Which is really saying something because the real "Pride and Prejudice" bored me to tears!

Also my birthday is this month! So I'm hoping for some book shaped gifts from friends and family. :-D

I have indeed heard of it and loved it! Though I'm a P&P fan anyway. We are publishing a classic with a twist in a couple of months called JANE SLAYRE... Jane Eyre with vampires, werewolves and more, oh my!!

Yay!! Happy Birthday!! I hope you get oodles of quality book fodder!
