Wow! I can not believe how quickly this year is going! It seems like only yesterday that I was packing up books for the Secret Santa giveaway and now look! It's March and the sun is shining over the London S&S offices

I read and reviewed both Day After Night by Anita Diamant and Ghost Song by Sarah Rayne on LibraryThing and in my journal ( here and here) and to Goodreads and Amazon. Thanks very much for sending them, I enjoyed them both to varying degrees :)
I'm interspersing my usual contemporary fiction reading fare with non-fiction and missed classics this year - I'm ashamed to say I only just got around to Wilkie Collin's The Woman in White and Charlotte Brontë's Villette. Both amazing works of period fiction.
I just reread Jane Eyre and I think I might have to say I liked it the first time, but I loved it the second time. I'm interested in more of Bronte's work- you recommend Villette?
I *loved* Villette, and heartily recommend it. The plot isn't quite as strong as Jane Eyre, but Lucy Snowe is my favourite character from romantic period fiction, hands down.
So, being a gorgeous sunny 70 degree day, I decided to take a walk to the Salvation Army and Goodwill to browse the books- and guess what I found? A copy of Villette for $2 that has not even a crease in the spine! So, per your recommendation, I got it (along with a copy of Anna Karenina, since my long time friend recommended that not long ago). I won't be reading it next, since I want to see if my book club wants to read it. Jane Eyre was a huge favorite, so I'm thinking there will be no qualms with it!
Coincidence! I just got my book , A Darkness Forged in Fire,(Our delivery system around here is pretty slow)
I look forward to read it and shall post a review when I'm done. Thanks!
Managed to read eleven books so far this year. The Strain, the Chrestomaci books and Beastly (this last one was a bit shocking as I spent the whole book loathing the protagonist and yet liking the book so much)
I haven't read anything so far this year that's really blown me away. I liked Succubus Blues and Finding Nouf, which is a literary detective novel set in Saudi Arabia, but nothing I've absolutely fallen in love with.
Last year I read Mr Darcy, Vampyre and was probably the only person to really love it - have you read that one? I read P&P&Zombies but I'm not a big zombie fan so it fell flat for me. This year I read Jane Bites Back which is about Jane Austen living as a modern-day vampire trying to find a publisher for her last novel - very fun!
Sorry, that's me there, above. I forgot, but I also read How to be Single by Liz Tuccoli. The one I loved best was Map of Ireland. My book review site has moved to www.giraffedays.com.

I recently read Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments trilogy and absolutely LOVED it. I've been liking the young adult fiction lately.
I'm really looking forward to Graceling and Fire, which are in my TBR pile.
