How is this not appropriate for the forums?? It is something that is hugely relevant to the community, yet EA is trying to cover it up??

I think we should get the best snail mail address for them, and have everyone mail the same letter expressing our disgust to them about all of this, from all over the world.

" This is Not America do do do do " Ya know EATSR I live in the United States- your company (EA at least) is in the US- The Constitutional Right to Free Speech and Freedom of Expression does not just apply to you and TSR folks- you have not rights to delete our comments - TSR stands for the SIMS resource hence it is a SIMS related topic .

Erm, as much as I think EAxis is being stupid about the whole thing, they're not the government so they're not infringing anybody's right to free anything.

Meaning deleting comments is not a free speech issue, they can do whatever they want, it's their forum. They're total asshats, though.

Dude, deleting is for cowards, btw.

While it might not be violating fee speech from a legal standpoint it certainly is from an ethical standpoint- I did not intend to delete - just aggravated today ( on my part not cause what you said cause you are correct)) - Admittedly poor business ethics aren't uncommon- but it still pisses me off

But I don't buy the excuse that it was only FA's accounts that got hacked (like a real hacker who isn't Thomass is going to hack the accounts of people who get them for free--- as part of their paycheck when they can hack into subscribers who pay for their accounts and access paypal info, credit card info and bank account info) I wouldn't be to surprised when EA sells TSR up the river when they start getting snail mail letters of complaint from customers and people refuse to buy sims 3, and that seems to be the real mood right now. When it happens I will be roflao

They absolutely have the rights to not allow you to speak on their private forum. Don't conflate a private entity with Congress.

That's just not true, though. If it were, hate speech laws wouldn't be in effect, and neither would slander laws. Also, people have been able to enact laws about pornography, etc.

Besides which, we are exercising our right to free speech by posting on the internet. They are exercising their right to limit the content on their private forum by deleting comments. That's not anti-free-speech, it's just stupid. If they banned you from the forum, that wouldn't be anti-free-speech either. It would be a private company exercising its right to decide who gets to be on their forum.

I don't particularly care about all the drama. What will decide it for me, whether or not to buy TS3, is going to be when it comes out whether CC will be able to be created by everyone who chooses and also whether they give us a TS2 option for aging. If one or both of those things do not happen, I won't be buying.

EA can get in bed with whomever they like and I don't care, what I care about is whether they're going to hog all the toys. So far it appears TSR is going to have the monopoly on CC. But until it's for sure, I'm not making a decision.

How is it drama when TSR is hacking into people's accounts, changing stuff and selling Paypal info?

As for the CC creation bit, from what I've gathered it's going to be a free for all, but you know that TSR is going to try to be the top dog.

You should care about who EA gets into bed with. EA has been known to do more bad than good for fans when it comes to who they deal with that isn't actually affiliated with the company.

It simply doesn't affect me, hence it doesn't factor into my decision. The same way Securom thus far hasn't affected me and so it doesn't factor into my decision either.

TSR has no information on me, as I've never used their services for anything, nor ever registered with them. Who EA gets in bed with in the fandom doesn't affect me because I am only here to play the game. Unless their affiliations begin to affect the way I play the game, it has no bearing on my decision to buy or not buy their products.

Well, now I know I'm not buying TS3. I thought I might buy it when the price goes down, and if I liked the arred version. No way I'm buying it now.
