I think this is a huge mistake on EA's part. We are in a really nasty economic climate, where luxuries are the first things to be cut. EA only produces luxury items, none of us NEED computer games, and more and more people are being laid of. Therefore, costumer loyalty is more important than ever.
EA should be the first to call TSR to the carpet, and do so very publicly, thereby demonstrating a clear concern for the welfare of their customers (whether they feel it or not, who cares what anyone feels as long as they DO right). This blatent disregard of customers actual well being at this point, with malware in the downloads, personal information shared publicly, hacking, etc. etc. is a VERY dangerous stance for a company in these times when people don't have disposable income, and a large percentage of their customers will have to choose to actually sacrifice something else to have the money to buy a game.
They're really missing the boat on a huge PR campaign by trying to sweep this under the rug, really.
Seems that we all got it *wrong* , and the friendly TSR folks are willing to explain to us what they're really about: http://www.thesimsresource.com/articles/myths Y HELLO THAR TSR! Now I'm finally believing you!
Ahahahahaha! You have GOT to be kidding me! Not you anon, TSR. April Fools, indeed.
What makes me laugh is that Steve started with the lies in the very first point he's trying to prove. I'm so beyond disgusted right now, and even though I basically left the community, I'm going to refute their points one by one in my blog as soon as I can separate my emotions from reason. It won't get far, but it'll allow me to at least say what I want to say and get it off my chest.
I'm not surprised they're trying to discredit Coconut or the pirates. Not only is that TSR's M.O, but that's really all they can do at this point because the evidence of their various actions is overwhelmingly against them.

They'll probably convince their sheep and those who truly want to believe them, but that's about it (most likely).
