Wanted: Your Input

Sim_Scenes is coming towards the end of our second year as a Livejournal community.  With our anniversary on the horizon it's a good time to reflect on our status and to make changes in the way we do things.  As always, orikes13 and I are open to suggestions and comments.  We've noticed that challenge responses have fallen off and we'd like input into

I've never participated in Sim Scenes, but I really do enjoy seeing it on my f-list. Even just the prompts. I always look at them and I think of stuff I could do, and it sometimes gives me ideas for *other* things (usually pertaining to my current project).

Unfortunately it's either been time or not being able to think of anything for me. I'm really horrible with story prompts and I'm bad at keeping things like this short.

I hope Sim Scenes continues. I appreciate everything you guys do! At least there is that. ;)

I really enjoy Sim Scenes, but at this point I haven't had the time to do one myself. I really hope this changes, and I would really hope that Sim Scenes stays.

Maybe you could try doing the challenge every two weeks for a while and see how it goes??

I know the idea is not to do every single challenge and they don't have to be complicated either, so in theory a week is more than enough time, however practically, between RL, and other sim projects or hobbies, a week isn't all that much.

I used to enjoyed doing these a lot, but during the last year, I've been loading the game less and less, so even when I feel inspired to try, between planning the scene and actually sitting down to take the shots, it's already so close to the due date, I never get them done on time.

Also, maybe you guys could try changing the challenge format from time to time (I mean, not every challenge, but one every few weeks/months or so). For example, you could give one thematic prompt and leave it open to interpretation; or give more prompts for people to choose from; or make a challenge in which we are allowed to use more screens per scene, or make it even harder with less caps. etc

I enjoy doing the sim scenes. I even go back and looked at my old entries when I have writer's block. But, sadly real life does get busy and I find myself doing my legacy when I do have time.

I really would hate to see it go away, though. I like a lot of Aledstrange's ideas about changing the format of the challenge from time to time or rather having more than one challenge. Maybe do something like sim_spiration and do some kind of theme each day. Something small like, I don't know, Historic Monday. Pick a time period and do 1 shot. You can even do a theme each month like April can be Alien month. All sim scenes must have something to do with aliens.

Just some ideas. :D

I haven't participated yet. I keep meaning to! I just don't ever seem to find the time. On that thread, reading through aledstrange's comments she has some good suggestions that might be worth trying
